It's really fucking unladylike to swear, y'know.

Well, fuck me sideways EatShit, you fucking know we are only saying that. In reality we're all little hairy trolls sitting in our dark holes, tapping on our smartphones with our dirty paws because we don't wash them after the loo Wink

I was surprised too, but not put off obviously (been here for years).

You don't have to swear and I rarely do, although it's quite tempting sometimes because it gets the point across nicely.

In the grand scheme of things the swearing is the least of the issues on here.

I have a theory you can tell which of your friends frequent mumsnet from the way they speak. f you ever hear say someone say wankbadger / shut tthefrontdooooor or fuckitybye, you knw they are a regular! Mumsnet is developing a language of all it's own. soon English will be extinct. Like Latin.

Fuck that!

It is sometimes said that people swear because of: the lack of an extensive vocabulary; a lack of respect for others; and a lack of moral fibre. That might make you feel better.

Now fuck off.

A quote from science alert... " The use of obscene or taboo language - or swearing, as it’s more commonly known - is often seen as a sign that the speaker lacks vocabulary, cannot express themselves in a less offensive way, or even lacks intelligence.

Studies have shown, however, that swearing may in fact display a more, rather than less, intelligent use of language"

Shitpouch, twatwaffle, cumdupster, arsebadger, and fucketyfuckingfuck... Now I ve illustrated my intelligence, I am out of here... Adios Grin,

I agree with you OP,

I'm not exactly put off by the swearing, but I don't think it's necessary either, I don't swear in RL either and I tell my adult DC off if they swear in my hearing

I don't see the need for the amount of nasty posts directed at you OP either
