I've just cooked a lovely and healthy meal, from scratch! And DS won't touch it. Yes, the bread is homemade.

He is 3.
The reason it's too, red.

Brew

And mine had a ham and lettuce sandwich after refusing the chicken stir fry I'd made....

Spandexpants007 · 15/03/2016 18:03

He's probably coming down with something if it's out of character.

My kids would love that!!! They wouldn't eat that much though. Mine eat as much as they like and I don't offer alternatives.

TooGood2BeFalse · 15/03/2016 18:04

Waiting in silence for the day my 4 year old eats salad....

Spandexpants007 · 15/03/2016 18:04

Would be too much food for my little ones but they would like what's provided.

Freeandsinglewater · 15/03/2016 18:06

I look like a jerk, now.

He has been eating fruit loads this past two days, and looked a little flushed. I assumed that would because of the tantrums

Gosh, my son ate pretty well I thought when he was a got, but prawns in mayonnaise at 3 Shock

My 19 year old daughter wouldn't eat that now Grin

MyLocal · 15/03/2016 18:07

*tot

LittleBlackTrilby · 15/03/2016 18:09

I'm lucky to get prawns onto the plate because the kids steal them all before I've got them anywhere near an actual recipe.

They totally get it from me. Prawns mmmmmm.

DinosaursRoar · 15/03/2016 18:10

Well I would scoff the bread but leave the rest as prawns aren't actually food in my view - I am aware that others disagree.

There's lots of bugs going round, DD has been off her food, and after making a variety of meals to have them rejected, realised she's not feeling great when smarties were declined.

IcingandSlicing · 15/03/2016 18:11

I hear your pain.
One of my kids would said they not touching it but if they have a desert after, they will eat it.
Although the other won't eat something they don't like at all under any circumstances.
It breaks my heart.

memyselfandaye · 15/03/2016 18:11

Is there any fucking need to put the OP down so much? Making a salad isn't cooking, the bread is rank, it doesn't look appetising, you could hammer nails with the bread.

Ignore the nasty cunts OP Maybe he's coming down with something or he just isn't in the mood for salad?

Whycantweallgetalong · 15/03/2016 18:14

OP well done for your effort.

But, what is he supposed to eat with the bread? I'm genuinely confused as I see some nice home made bread, then salad and what looks like some seeds in a cup? It doesn't look like a complete meal or rather two incomplete meals Confused

Twinsareplenty · 15/03/2016 18:15

3 yo : ewww prawns. Bread has got bits. Don't like the seeds. SALAD!!!!
I have one that still eats everything, and another that appears to be following my batshit mother into checking sell by dates and only ever eating four items of food. Weird.
Wouldn't worry - just eat it yourself. If 3yo is hungry he can have some bread by itself. 10/10 for attempting salad though.

RudeElf · 15/03/2016 18:15

Mine at weetabix and pancakes for dinner. I had made pasta bake. I no longer care.

barnet · 15/03/2016 18:18

Sorry, i wouldn't fancy eating it. It is also too huge. My 9 year old could eat a quarter of it.

mudandmayhem01 · 15/03/2016 18:19

Frozen pizzas, I put them in the oven, that's cooking, past caring, there is a lot of perfect peters around today!

APlaceOnTheCouch · 15/03/2016 18:20

Cut the bread up so it looks like Peppa Pig replace with cartoon hero of your choice Rearrange the prawns to look like clouds, make the salad and tomatoes look like trees and then hide the seeds in amongst the salad so he has a treasure hunt for them whilst eating the other food - ta dah!

Freeandsinglewater · 15/03/2016 18:22

Don't worry it will be sausages, chips and peas tomorrow.
A guaranteed winner.

Freeandsinglewater · 15/03/2016 18:24

aplace I'll try that next time.

needastrongone · 15/03/2016 18:24

Why do folk have to be so bloody nasty? I can get advice re portion size but sarky comments about not being 'homemade' and not looking appetising are just bitchy.

What horrible people some folk are.

RiverWhy · 15/03/2016 18:25

Gwyneth is that you

Gobbolino6 · 15/03/2016 18:27

Pass it over please....

NoEscapeFromReality · 15/03/2016 18:29

Sorry OP but that is adult food, not child food. I wouldn't particularly want that either if I'm honest. Prawn cocktail is great as a starter but not as a main meal. Salad for a 3 year old is pointless. They need calories.

Notso · 15/03/2016 18:29

Star bravery award OP for putting your food on here to be critiqued.

If they eat they eat, if they don't they don't is my mantra. That and let the kids serve themselves.
Mine love salad however three out of four and me wouldn't touch insects of the sea prawns with a barge pole.
