And where they are stored in between washes if used more than once?

Bath / shower towels probably once every week / ten days here and stored in airing cupboard.

I also beat things against rocks twice a year.

I just can't believe women in the 21st century are online talking about laundry FFS.

Now I am too. Aaaaarrrrggghhhh.

I usually assume these threads are started by people who haven't been on mn long and don't realise how frequently it's raised so I feel sorry for this op. But what gets me is that it IS raised so frequently. So many threads about cleanliness, tidiness, with the desire to know what's the right way, but which always leads to people taking a stand on how much or how little they participate in the task raised for discussion in the thread. It seems that, as a phenomenon, "mn", whatever that is, is very preoccupied by these sorts of "concerns".

Hassled · 10/03/2016 22:20

To be honest I don't know if I really have ever idly wondered if my washing routine is standard. But nevertheless I will fight for my right to idly wonder about laundry and post on MN about it. Where else could I do that? Is there a wonderingaboutlaundry.com? Maybe there should be.

(laundry is one of those words that looks more and more wrong the more you type it)

Sparklingbrook · 10/03/2016 22:21

The thing with these threads are they are just lists. Nobody reads anybody else's replies. You may as well just post 'once a week and in the airing cupboard' and hide the thread.

EveOnline2016 · 10/03/2016 22:22

Talking about your dirty laundry in public < shocker>

Dd has a bath I dry her and use that as my hair towel, ds has a bath use it as my bath mat then I use another clean towel as my body towel dh uses it after. So this 3 towels get washed after every bath time. Because it easier to wash dry and put away rather than having them dripping wet on rads.

tangerino · 10/03/2016 22:22

I wash mine every day, but that's because I fashion them into a giant night nappy which I wear in lieu of knickers in bed.

acasualobserver · 10/03/2016 22:22

I don't wash towels at all. I dry them on the line and put them back in the airing cupboard. With the pooey sheets and the piss-stained duvet covers.

Such a relief, I thought I was the only one. Thank God for the internet.

Hassled · 10/03/2016 22:27

But Sparkling - at least 75% of threads are like that really, aren't they? It's all anecdotes or lists - no-one's really engaging with other posters, there's no debate, no-one's reading the replies (except, you'd hope, the OP). But does it matter if people are happy with that?

MakingJudySmile · 10/03/2016 22:29

Actually I never wash mine, I buy new daily.

Sparklingbrook · 10/03/2016 22:29

Just seems weird Hassled. An AIBU about towel washing, If there's no discussion or debate and nobody is reading the replies what's the point?
Unless it's a survey or something. Confused

OnlyHereForTheCamping · 10/03/2016 22:30

I wash mine in the tears of a lost generation neglected by their slatternly mothers

RudeElf · 10/03/2016 22:33

After every use. Washed at 90.

Throws popcorn at everyone

Oly5 · 10/03/2016 22:38

Wow, what vile responses from people who think they own mumsnet
People can ask things as often as they like on here, if you don't like it, shove off
OP, I do mine once every week/10 days but think it should peobably be more
Stored in airing cupboard
If I want to wonder about washing towels I will

elephantoverthehill · 10/03/2016 22:38

I boil the flannels in the saucepan I have made the Horlicks in.

MyBootsAreMuddy · 10/03/2016 22:44

WASH THEM?Shock Don't be absurd, towels must never be washed. One simply hands it to the servant girl after each use to be disposed of.
Next time a towel is required my maid brings me a brand new one, woven from unicorn tails and embroidered with the finest silk from silkworms all made under the light of the new moon in the Enchanted Forest by magical pixies.

CosyNook · 10/03/2016 22:48

Well said Oly5

Fatmomma99 · 10/03/2016 22:53

ManneryTowers · 10/03/2016 22:59

Maryz I just spent my last fiver on Horlicks. So

ManneryTowers · 10/03/2016 23:00

*z

MakingJudySmile · 10/03/2016 23:00

But I also own it. You better give me some of that fiver.

MakingJudySmile · 10/03/2016 23:01

I don't like Horlicks. Is that going to be a problem?

Tink06 · 10/03/2016 23:04

I wash mine a lot but not through choice - I find them dumped all over the place and don't know whose used what so they go in the wash. Moving house soon and going too get a colour each to avoid this.

LovelyFriend · 10/03/2016 23:04

What is with all the washing

Does any one of us actually give a shit about how another person in the world washes their sheets or towels?

Or has life actually got this boring?

Really!
