to think that buses were designed as torture chambers for the pregnant?

The lady sitting beside me has such bad gas I am surprised birds aren't falling from the sky.

A group of kids has just walked on with greasy chicken and chips.

No one was giving up a seat for an elderly man so I got up and got off the bus to wait for the next one- also to get some fresh air.

Two women at opposite sides of the bus shelter were smoking.

Got on next bus. Came upstairs as fewer smells and people. Now a mum is playing some sort of loud annoying cartoon to her daughter at full volume on her smart phone.

I want to cry.

Didn't have a car, so used buses all through my pregnancies.
Particular memories of going in to hospital in labour with dd1. Bus driver drove very carefully. In fact never knew one drive so slowly and carefully. I suspect buying a single with dh getting a return gave it away. Or perhaps the tens machine. Or maybe the stopping half way on the bus to puff through a contraction.

Or maybe the number of times I stopped the bus to go and be sick when pregnant with dd2. They kindly would stop te bus, let me off and wait until I'd finished being sick, then get back on. Mind you I suppose the alternative was worse.

And several of the bus drivers took to helping me off the bus and carrying shopping/buggy/small children to my front door (over the road from the bus stop). I must have looked pretty bad, but it was kind of them.

Emanado, I know right! Giraffes don't deserve such associations! They are so gracious.

Withend, God that sounds awful! I am glad you had supportive bus drivers though. Although I remain hopeful, I have never seen anything like that in London.

Bit late to the thread, but I feel you OP!

I am 20 weeks with my second little boy and this pregnancy has been all about the nose! I still throw up at smells I don't like and even if I fancy something in particular to eat,the smell can put me off. Definitely starting to get a little better as of this week though!! I use the vicks on my chest/nose if I'm going somewhere I know might be tricky.

Hang on a second. It's pretty poor form to take the piss out of someone's user name just because they disagree with you.
This is AIBU? so posters here should should hardly expect consensus.

(BTW the evil giraffe is an Eddie Izzard joke. Do your homework)

ouryve · 28/02/2016 19:57

Unless Evilgiraffe's username is on their birth certificate, then I'd say it's fair game for comment.

And you hardly gain the upper hand by being rude in turn.

Good points ourvye and hidden snake!
