To ask what time you go to bed?

I work from home (doing a degree) and I know it doesn't sound particularly tough, but it's a maths degree and it really kills my energy.

I have to be up at 8:30 (pretty good) but seriously struggle to get to be before 2 am and I find it begins to ruin my day, so I drag myself to library (when possible) just to force the hours of studying into me.

I've always wondered what the average time was for other people to go to bed, I suppose it's something I never discuss with people! If so, what's your routine!?

ohtheholidays
So do you literally survive on 3-4 hours sleep every single night?
What happens actually on holiday?

stargirl04 · 25/02/2016 23:12

Extreme night owl... never in bed before 2am, sometimes even between 3 and 4am. Many years ago, when I was unemployed for a while, I routinely went to bed at 4am.

I work evenings half the week, start work at about 4.30pm and get up about 11am. The other half of the week I start work at about 11am so am up at 9am and in bed the night before at 1am- but never get to sleep till at least 3am as I'm worrying about getting up on time.

Too late! I'm best when I go to bed at 10:30 and read for awhile. Most of the time I fall asleep on the sofa and I'm too tired to drag myself upstairs and I end up going up at 12:00 or later. Vicious cycle.

TowerRavenSeven · 25/02/2016 23:18

Oh and I have to be up by 5:45 am days ds has school and I have to work. So that is less than 6 hours. Now that I see it written I can see why I'm always tired!

DellyBee · 25/02/2016 23:24

I try to go to bed at 11.30/12 after feeding my youngest x

nokidshere · 25/02/2016 23:26

I try to go before midnight but am rarely asleep before 3am. I get up at 6:30am

penguinplease · 25/02/2016 23:35

I work full time and also doing a degree at home. Always promise myself an early night, never go before 1am, often much later and up at 7.
Sleep in at the weekend , more so if it's my weekend without the dc.
Wish I could be more disciplined, am always tired!

tkndnv · 26/02/2016 04:52

I'm up at 5 in the week so try to be in bed for ten

NantucketNightbird · 26/02/2016 06:18

I go up to bed at 8 and am usually sleeping by 9. I get up any time from 4.30-5. My children are very good sleepers and don't wake until 7.30-8 but I love the time to myself in the mornings.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 26/02/2016 06:22

Go to bed 10.00-10.30. Up at 6.30.

Would love to stay awake later like some people, but i just can't. Tiredness at night makes me feel nauseous.

icklekid · 26/02/2016 06:37

Last night fast asleep by 8.30! 10 is more normal but pregnant and bunged up at the moment! Ds wakes between 4.30-5.30 am for the day so no lie in here!

Pengweng · 26/02/2016 08:01

I get up at 6.00am so try to go to sleep before 11pm or i'd be a disaster all day.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 26/02/2016 08:29

I try to go at 9 because DD has us awake from 2 til 430 every night.

maitaimojito · 26/02/2016 08:34

I try to be in bed before 10:30 and I'm up at 6:30 for work.

Sometimes I get up at 5:30 to go for a run and do try to be in bed for 10 the night before as I find that anything less than 7 hours sleep has me falling asleep at my desk the next day.

ohtheholidays · 26/02/2016 09:48

Grumpysquash yes and that's with sleeping tablets,my Dad's had insomnia for years and it looks like I'm going to be like him.

Do you mean my sleep pattern on holidays?
If so usually I do sleep a bit better on holiday,I probably go to bed about 12 or 1am and then get up at around 7.
We are very active usually on holiday though 5DC and 2 of our DC are autistic, our youngest DD8 who is autistic is not a homebird in the slightest so when were away on holiday she wants to be up and out every single day.

Holidays as in time of school but at home and doing day trips I try to get to sleep by 1 because I know I'll be up by 7 and that the children will want to get out of the house by 9am.Our 14DS(is also autistic),12DD and 8DD all wake up early when they can have a lay in but come school days they could sleep all day.

SkylarSmile · 26/02/2016 13:22

Bed at 1-2am, up again around 3am for night feed and up properly at 6am. I am doing a degree from home with a baby that doesn't do sleep so understand your pain. I find napping with little one in the day has saved my sanity and given me a little pick me up to study in mornings and night when I can. Also my tutors are quite understanding so when little one was a few weeks old I could get a couple of days extension on the TMAs

Pinkheart5915 · 26/02/2016 13:24

We have a 5 months old son that we put to bed at 6:30pm so me and my hubby them stay up until around 12 so we get some time together

lastqueenofscotland · 26/02/2016 13:39
