To ask what time you go to bed?

I work from home (doing a degree) and I know it doesn't sound particularly tough, but it's a maths degree and it really kills my energy.

I have to be up at 8:30 (pretty good) but seriously struggle to get to be before 2 am and I find it begins to ruin my day, so I drag myself to library (when possible) just to force the hours of studying into me.

I've always wondered what the average time was for other people to go to bed, I suppose it's something I never discuss with people! If so, what's your routine!?

bibbity I suppose it's the most busiest? More of an answer, I suppose. However, don't want to sound like I'm intruding your life choices by asking your routine Grin

I go to sleep at about 1.30am. I sleep about 6 hours most nights, but can have a very productive day on less, and pretty often don't go to bed until 2am.

Weekends often mean I catch up, having 8 or 9 hours. DH is very generous at letting me take lie-ins: he takes DS downstairs and snoozes on the sofa until DS asks for his breakfast, and doesn't wake me until 10 or so.

Sallystyle · 23/02/2016 21:53

1.00am if not working early, I wake up to see the kids then go back to bed for a couple of hours when they have gone Blush

If I'm working an early shift I go to bed at 10.00pm and I have to take nytol to sleep because my head doesn't want to sleep that early. On an early I either wake up at 5.00am or 6.00am.

Needless to say, my sleeping pattern in pretty fucked.

I hate going to bed at 10.00pm with a passion. With teens who go to bed late ish I love going to my room and reading or talking to dh in peace, if I go to bed at 10.00pm I feel like I have had no evening.

RubyRoseViolet · 23/02/2016 21:53

In bed reading or Mumsnetting till about 11, awake and up at 6.15 on working days and 7 am on non working days.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 23/02/2016 21:54

In theory I go to bed at 10 & get up at 6. At the moment I get to bed anytime between 10 & 3 (usually up & down during those times on the rare occasions I do go up at 10) & I get up at about 6:45. This baby doesn't like sleep!

CointreauVersial · 23/02/2016 22:01

Another night owl here. Typically, I go to bed between 1am and 2am, get up at 7am. I function perfectly well on this amount of sleep, however, I will usually have a lie-in at the weekends to catch up.

I wish I could go to bed earleir, but I'm just incapable! I keep finding things to do.

DramaAlpaca · 23/02/2016 22:05

I'm another night owl. I go to bed around 1am, later at weekends, and manage on between 6 & 7 hours sleep during the week, catching up at weekends.

user7755 · 23/02/2016 22:08

Get up at 5.30, would be in bed now if I didn't feel I ought to show some solidarity with DH

Sparklingbrook · 23/02/2016 22:08

More of a Chat thread but never mind.

I go to bed about 10pm, and watch the TV. Don't tell anyone though because it's bit of a no-no.

wonderpants · 23/02/2016 22:10

Bed 9-10pm, get up about 7am!
I love my bed!

5minutestobed · 23/02/2016 22:22

Bed about 10.30 up at 6/7/8 depending on when ds wakes up. Still tired, I love sleep!

WorraLiberty · 23/02/2016 22:24

Bed about 12.30am on a week night and up at 7.10am.

Weekends, bed about 2am and up about 10am.

BackforGood · 23/02/2016 22:29

In my mind, I always intend to go to bed for 11, but it's generally 12.30 before I actually turn the light out. I get up at different times depending on what I need to do that day - sometimes 6.30am, sometimes not until 8.30

Thegreatunslept · 23/02/2016 22:32

In bed now with dh sleeping beside me. Up at 6/6.15 and out of house by 6.40am. Late nights are going to bed at 11 for us. We like to be in bed. I read/mumsnet til 11/11.30. Dh asleep 5 mins after getting into bed but ds goes to sleep at 7 so we get a good few hrs to ourselves before bed.

nattyknitter · 23/02/2016 22:41

I'm another night owl. I have never considered going to bed before midnight. Usually in bed and ready to sleep for about 1, but it can drift closer to 2. Usually up around 8.

I didn't realise that wasn't normal until I lived in a shared house at uni and some would head off to bed as early as 9 on a school night.

MissingPanda · 23/02/2016 22:52

It depends. If I'm up at 6 or 7am then I try to be in bed with lights off by 11pm at the latest. If I'm working until 10 or 10.30pm then at 10 it depends on what's on tv, 10.30 I tend to get undressed and straight into bed, although like tonight I'll watch tv until about 11. If I don't have to be up the next morning then any time up until about 2am, though usually between 12 and 1am

lilypadpod · 24/02/2016 08:24

Bed 8pm, up at 11pm, 2am, 4am with baby then up for day at 6am!

HermioneJeanGranger · 24/02/2016 08:40

Wake up at 5am to be in work by 6. I go to bed around 9pm.

jamdonut · 25/02/2016 18:56

Bed at 12:30am up at 6:40am. It's too late really, but I just can't seem to get bed any earlier than that!

ohtheholidays · 25/02/2016 19:08

My sleep pattern is really really bad, earliest I usually go to bed is about 1.45 am most of the time though it's between 2.30 and 4 am and then I get up at 7am with the 5DC.

Inshock73 · 25/02/2016 19:09

Another night owl here! I used to go to bed 11.30-12.00 and be up at 6am before I had my 10 month old. Now I'm asleep on the sofa by 9.30! Anyone else do this? Baby sometimes sleeps through, other nights will have me up for around 45 mins during the night, on a bad night she'll get up at 3am and won't go back to bed until 7am :( God I miss my sleep!

tinyterrors · 25/02/2016 20:34

I go to bed anywhere between 8pm and 11pm during the week. When I go to bed before 10 I watch tv, read or mn for a while. I'm usually asleep by 10.30 most nights, occasionally it's 11.30. I'm up at 6.30 am weekdays.

Weekends it can be 1am before I'm asleep and I get up whenever the dcs wake me, usually about 7am.

thebestfurchinchilla · 25/02/2016 21:29

Bed at 1pm to 11pm, alarm goes off at 6.45, get up 7am.

thebestfurchinchilla · 25/02/2016 21:29

10pm!!

grumpysquash3 · 25/02/2016 23:10

Bed about 12.30am on a week night and up at 7.10am.Weekends, bed about 2am and up about 10am.

Worra, I am exactly the same!

Bit of a deficit in the week, sleep in at the weekend.

It all goes pear shaped if DH has a very snorey night and I end up with only 3-4 hours sleep. I can function but am as grumpy as my name suggests
