We are looking for a new sofa for our new house. I'm happy to go with leather but my husband has chosen this. He loves it. I think it looks like a huge turd! Please tell me it's not just me.

Yikes! That's horrible! And yes, very turd-like. :o

novemberchild · 21/02/2016 21:40

Finish the look with these accent cushions!

Yes very turd-like.

You need to dress it with these cushions.

Snap! novemberchild!

GruntledOne · 21/02/2016 21:41

It's horrible. Why have something so dark? If you must have leather, there are much nicer colours available.

novemberchild · 21/02/2016 21:42

Yaaaaaasssss! Mmmm. I'm almost jealous :)

Youarentkiddingme · 21/02/2016 21:42

Wow, just wow. Were the designers on glue when they created that one?

I am proper laughing here with tears in my eyes - my immediate thought was Bristol stool chart no 2 too!

SnuffleGruntSnorter · 21/02/2016 21:44

Could you show him a nice Chesterfield? Same idea, just executed with a bit more style.

namechangeychangey · 21/02/2016 21:45

YY ILoveA! The whole point of a leather sofa is to have something wipe clean. How is that possible with all those inny and outy bits?!
It is a poo. YANBU OP.

CornishDoll82 · 21/02/2016 21:47

He won't budge? Does be make sole decisions on furniture in your house?!

It is frankly one of the ugliest sofas I've ever seen. Where is selling it OP?

Littledafty · 21/02/2016 21:49

That looks like a massive jobbie, who on earth designed that, looked at the finished product and said, oh yes that looks great.Confused
It would definitely get called the jobbie seat in our house!

UterusUterusGhali · 21/02/2016 21:51

Go on Pinterest and show me one, ONE picture where a sofa like that looks stylish.
You can't.

Won't budge? You should LTB.

exLtEveDallas · 21/02/2016 21:52

That is the ugliest most uncomfortable looking sofa I have ever seen. You can't buy that, no really, you can't.

(My sis bowed to her DHs wishes and bought a sofa she hated once. Unexpectedly 6 months later they split up and he left. She took a knife to the sofa a couple of days later - her living room looked like the set of a bad slasher movie. They reconciled, and you know what, he never once mentioned the horrible sofa...I reckon DNephew told him that mum went mad with a carving knife)

Clarabumps · 21/02/2016 21:53

That looks like a big huge jobby. honestly. I'd divorce rather than have that in my house.

molyholy · 21/02/2016 21:54

That is a special kinda fugly

ILikeUranus · 21/02/2016 21:56

Haha LTB! Dh and I agree it's a turd.

Jenijena · 21/02/2016 21:56

I don't like brown sofas (they're all poo coloured as far as I'm concerned) but that is particularly hideous...

thefutureisOrange · 21/02/2016 21:58

OP I don't think anyone is agreeing with your DH and that is very unusual on MN! It means it must be very bad (as you already thought)

Fairylea · 21/02/2016 21:58

More than poo I am just thinking it looks so uncomfortable!!

facedontfit · 21/02/2016 21:59

Hysterical I want one

WhoaCadburys · 21/02/2016 22:01

LTB

Hate to think what that is stuffed with.

TiggyD · 21/02/2016 22:02

Turd.

I'm now worried about a giant somewhere that eats cows and shits out leather sofas.

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 21/02/2016 22:08

Ugh, it's one of the most hideous things I've ever seen! When he was looking for a sofa was his checklist:

Hard and uncomfortable
Too low at the back to rest my head
Bare skin must stick to it
Look like a shit

If so, it's surpassed expectations hasn't it. Mr ILoveACornishPasty, have you been on the glue sherry dear?Grin

Oh I could never LTB-mainly because he's not a B! It is absolutely disgusting and I'm trying to steer him in the right direction....to answer previous poster, no he doesn't make all the decisions but we have a big sitting room so I'm getting one and he's getting another. I'm considering picking something equally vile so we can have a mutual veto (like we did with baby names!!) but am afraid he may call my bluff and I'll end up with the turd on one side of the room and one of those fucking awful patchwork monstrosities that are always inexplicably(?!) in the DFS sale!!
