to think this is a pretty gross and unappetising quote for a restaurant menu?

"Great restaurants are, of course, nothing but mouth-brothels. There is no point in going to them if one intends to keep one’s belt buckled.
Frederic Raphael (1931-)"

I mean - I can sort of see where they thought they were going with it, but really? At very best - Mr Creosote whipping it out at the table. At worst it makes me think about exploitation.

Pity as I was quite fancying the menu up till that point, but don't think I could face anything in a white sauce...

MattDillonsPants - thing is, even if they changed it, I'd still feel queasy about eating there. And it's so vile - I kind of wonder if they'd even give a shit?

mm...given that it is a physical necessity to eat but not to have sex, surely it is more accurately like a mouth-toilet, a physical requirement for which one needs to unbuckle the belt also?
Or not, as the whole simile concept is off-putting.

It's pretty gross, but I guess both the sex trade and the food industry exist as a result of varying levels of exploitation (unless it's a fair trade, ethically and sustainably sourced vegan restaurant).

Which restaurant is it?

I've not heard of this chain but that is really quite yuk. Which is a shame, because I like the explanation of their tip policy at the beginning of the menu.
