Quite frankly, I'd be pissed off if a friend I had told in confidence, supposedly, mentioned anything to her boss.

So, at some point, you either didn't told her it was in confidence, or she broke your trust.

You're definitely misdirecting your anger.

And if it's a small place you should know it's hard to keep such news secret.
