Noobylola, please stop resurrecting zombie threads. Could you tell us what you have to say in a fresh thread of your very own please?

AIBU to ask this?

OP posts:

Why do MN even keep AIBU threads for that long?

If I was new doing an Advanced Search wouldn't be my first thought. I don't think i found it for months. Tis a very useful function now though.

I am looking forward to my annual dirty McDonalds breakfast tomorrow.

BabyGanoush · 17/02/2016 17:52

It is hilarious that you are all so angry about this.

Why?

Clearly the poster you mean has a bit of an obsession with healthy eating/junk food, so what.

No problem, fair enough things to discuss.

Sparklingbrook · 17/02/2016 17:56

Nobody is angry Confused.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/02/2016 18:03

You have to make a serious grammatical error to see us angry Baby.

Or post about cats pooing in your herbaceous borders.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/02/2016 18:06

Although I like the old threads. I have boring questions about kitchen tiles that only mumsnet can answer and it's very useful to keep them on my watched list so dh doesn't leave me for someone less nerdy.

Marmite27 · 17/02/2016 18:07

I have this horrible virus. Have just sent DH to get McD's for tea thanks to the other thread.

ghostyslovesheep · 17/02/2016 18:15

she's not THAT new she was posting lots in August! (well bumping threads in parties anyway)

CrushedNinjas · 17/02/2016 19:19

My two pennoth.

I help moderate a small forum and I think that most of the people that resurrect very old threads (in that forum) are newbies who genuinely feel uncomfortable about posting a brand new thread on a similar topic.

It's as if they feel they've stood up in front of a massive crowd and shouted 'look at me' and everyone falls silent.

However, it's definitely less of a problem as their posting confidence grows.

I hope Noobylola (changes her nickname?) gets into the swing of posting soon.

SilverBirchWithout · 17/02/2016 19:50

Also is someone going to let her know lol is just not on either?

RuddyHellItsSoftCell · 17/02/2016 19:57

I might be wrong but I think if you google something specific an old mn thread can appear in the results.

Flumplet · 17/02/2016 20:03

Oh it never really occurred to me to be that much of a problem to be honest. Sometimes digging up a zombie thread brings out some really good old stuff (especially out of classics) and I don't see the problem with continuing on a thread where some people might have made some interesting or useful posts, rather than starting a new one and maybe miss out on all the 'old' info.
