Noobylola, please stop resurrecting zombie threads. Could you tell us what you have to say in a fresh thread of your very own please?

AIBU to ask this?

Olivia, please, in the name of all that's holy, please, please, PLEASE consider locking threads after a certain period of time.

It would save all of this.

LadyStoicIsBack · 17/02/2016 17:19

I just got caught by a zombie thread.

^^^ We cross postedCranberry - mine was letting folks know it was a Zombie and then bless you, there was your genuine post immed. above min and below [the brilliantly funny worded one like, I'll shut the door after myself or something - was v funny.... something I could never manage 10 wks in Wink]

DecaffCoffeeAndRollupsPlease · 17/02/2016 17:20

Power to the posters!

shazzarooney99 · 17/02/2016 17:21

why not just send the poster a pm?

pocketsaviour · 17/02/2016 17:21

Dear god, I could murder a mcchicken sandwich now. Argh.

jamhot · 17/02/2016 17:22

She replied to my PM to say that she didn't know that there was a problem resurrecting zombie threads.

Personally, I hope that she starts her own thread as she clearly has thoughts/topics/comments that other mumsnetters are interested in.

I am aware that sometimes I may sound sarcastic when being sincere, so I want to be clear that I am being sincere.

LadyStoicIsBack · 17/02/2016 17:23

Oh FFS, ANOTHER one in bloody 'trending'

Nooby now has THREE of the FIVE 'trending topics .... including THIS one Grin

Nicely played Jamhot, nicely played... Wink

NeedsAsockamnesty · 17/02/2016 17:28

She can't see a problem with resurrecting zombie threads?

She replied to a poster on one that was 9 fucking years old earlier

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 17/02/2016 17:30

awww Nooby you're getting a hard time

I know what it's like when you first come on here and see all the Interesting Shiz and start running about like it's Supermarket Sweep

go and start a thread of your own. You're already FAMOUS

PresidentOliviaMumsnet · 17/02/2016 17:30

She just didn't know.
If you're new you don't always know
Peace and love people.

FishOn · 17/02/2016 17:31

Macdonalds is shit - Wendy's is where it's at.

double baconator....mmmm

I reckon Noob's on a diet like me

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 17/02/2016 17:32

looking at them there zombie threads I do miss R[redacted]ity and R[redacted]n and what not

OurBlanche · 17/02/2016 17:32

I think it was more annoying to resurrect a thread with a single post and then never return to it to see the reaction. It felt like there was no way of communicating... whilst waiting to see if she responded to jamhot!

That and I got told off on another thread, a poster who had been suckered into replying to an old thread thought my 'BORED' post was aimed at her Blush

jamhot · 17/02/2016 17:32

She is new to the site. The problem with resurrecting old threads isn't even clear or agreed on by established mumsnetters, let alone new ones.

OP posts:
EssentialHummus · 17/02/2016 17:33

I'm genuinely curious as to what spurred Nooby to do this. What kind of a day do you need to have to think, Right, I'm going to MN the hell out of every thread about fast food, fizzy drinks and children?

Hand on heart, I would love to hear the back story.

Like the rest of you, I'd smash a Big Mac right now. I'm in SE London if anyone's passing Grin

NeedsAsockamnesty · 17/02/2016 17:33

Sorry olivia I'm being an arsehole today,

I dropped the supervision requirement due to getting sucked into a food related thread and had a 2yo force play doh up my nose and a 3yo paint the grandfather clock.
Very traumatising it was!

OurBlanche · 17/02/2016 17:35

That doesn't really hold true though. All forums have older posts. It is just common sense to notice the age of them as you find your way round, don't you?

Meh maybe that's just me Smile

jamhot · 17/02/2016 17:36

The back story is that she is going to be hosting a party for health conscious people and didn't know what food to serve. I suggested that she start her own thread, but I think she wasn't keen.

It's a shame, as we love to rant and salivate talk about food.

OP posts:
Chippednailvarnish · 17/02/2016 17:38

Maybe we should start a thread for her.

Then not reply for 9 years.

exexpat · 17/02/2016 17:39

I've said this before, but why isn't there a zombie warning at the top of zombie threads, as well as at the bottom?

People could still read through and post if they wanted, but those of us who groan when we realise we've just read three pages on someone's (presumably by now solved or irrelevant) dilemma from 2006 would be warned off early (and deeply grateful).

ilovesooty · 17/02/2016 17:40

She's not that new. She was posting last August.

OurBlanche · 17/02/2016 17:40

My mistake s always to be the 5th or 6th poster, by which time the Zombie Alert has gone Grin

CaptainCrunch · 17/02/2016 17:41

How do you find them in the first place though? And not just one, but about 6. I find the "just didn't know" a little bit suspect to say the least.

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 17/02/2016 17:41

Sorry olivia I'm being an arsehole today

now you know I've seen A LOT of arseholes on here of late

not once has ANYone held their hands up and said they're being arseholes

props to you, sock
