To not return this refunded item

So I ordered something for £20 off the internet. I cancelled it. They sent me a confirmation email. The idiots still sent me the item.

Should I contact them about it or just keep the item. I followed procedure, why should I deal with the hassle of sending the blasted thing back. I don't even need it!

What will happen? Will they realise and charge me anyway?

They've already refunded the money and they said that I can send it back at my convenience. I said that it might be a while then and I'm worried that they'll take the money back again and they said they can't do that.

The idiots have just sent me an emai via Royal Mail to print out the label when I said on the phone and emailed them that I don't have a sodding printer.

True that I've already spent too much time on this.

My solution is that the company should have a simpler method of collecting items that they send out and charge for in error or writes off their loss and tells their employees to pay more attention in future.

It's not a laughing matter. They are stealing the OP's time, which costs money. If you don't think they are doing that, why don't they spend their time sending someone round to her house to get the thing that they she cancelled but sent out and charged for anyway?

That will undoubtedly cost them more money than the item is worth. Which is why I said they should write it off and tell their staff to stop making mistakes.

I'd send it back with an invoice for your handling fee.

It's not a case of just printing it out and going to the Post Office if you don't have a printer and are at work during Post Office opening hours.

It was only £20

I'd email asking for them to send you the label and then just post it next time you go to the post office.

I wouldn't make a special trip but I'm sure you will eventually be going anyway so just do it then. Or if it's small put it in the envelope and just pop it in a post box.

They should arrange for collection at the door. End of.

Email that to them and stop replying to them. Not your problem.

That's the problem, isn't it? For a lot of people that would be more inconvenient than the post office.

This sort of thing is one of the minor irritants of online shopping. There are also benefits, or none of us would shop online.

Or from the OP's work. Whatever works better.

Do your work allow private couriers? Mine won't, either for drop off or pick up.
