what age are the kids that aren't allowed to wear the t-shirts and jeans? and what the fuck is wrong with jeans now?

Yup, naming them silly names, tick, and dressing them up in beastie boys and sex pistols t-shirts, tick. Oh and jeans too. I've let the whole of MN down. I'm not angry, just very disappointed in myself. i also don't shower or bleach my house every day and we all share towels Shock

My 18 month old has a Rammstein Tshirt. because he was conceived at Rammstein concert

MrsKoala · 10/02/2016 21:05

WTF? Some people really do have too much time on their hands. My babies wear really lovely soft lined jeans (from Marks, how can you doubt Marks fgs). I never realised i was so controversial. Next you'll be telling me i can't tattoo make up on my baby's face!

hazeyjane · 10/02/2016 21:10

Yes, I liked to force the dcs legs into jeans from birth, the stiffer the better, then you can lean them against coffee tables.

Whilst wearing their Anti Nowhere League T-shirt with the lyrics to Animal.

(Everyone knows you're sposed to dress them in snow white babygros until they're 18)

StitchesInTime · 10/02/2016 21:11

We had some lovely baby jeans with soft linings.

I did come across a mum in a baby group once who told me that she didn't dress her DS in denim or dungarees because she couldn't bear the thought of her DS being uncomfortable. I was holding a tiny DS1, who was dressed in (lovely comfortable) denim dungarees. Hmm

MrsKoala · 10/02/2016 21:13

I'm going to call SS on myself right now. Or 101, so i can at least get it logged. Grin

tinofbiscuits · 10/02/2016 21:14

You can't win either way. I've heard rude remarks from people who considered babygros an attempt to "keep the baby a baby" for too long (even when only a few months old, so quite obviously still a baby!)

MrsKoala · 10/02/2016 21:19

I love those comments. I bumped into a mum of a boy at my DS1 pre-school the other day. She told me she had put her boy in a different pre-school where they are in the forest and spend the day making mud pies and stuff with no inside space just teepees and stuff. I said 'oh that sounds fun' and she said 'yeah, well it costs more than x pre-schoool, but we really want our children to succeed in life'. Confused Because the rest of us just don't give a shit about our dc and making mud pies is some kind of training for success Hmm .

Every time i think of it i piss myself laughing. It's got to be one of the best things anyone has said to me. Grin

Abbinob · 10/02/2016 21:19

DS has a led zeplin top. He likes it cause its shiny so he's happy enough.
I mean babies wear tops with animals on etc, you don't hear people saying "but she's only 3 weeks old she doesn't even know what a kitten is" Confused

Oi you lot, stop talking about babygrows and get back to the ridiculously important business of names. I'm due in 8 days and I need to know what I'm allowed to call my Ds.

I was hoping for something unusual, manly but somehow still cute on a baby.

ollieplimsoles · 10/02/2016 21:23

Our dd has a star trek uniform...

We put her in it to piss mil off at Xmas, she bought her a ghastly red dress with tights and little shoes, she was only 8 weeks old! Her face when we unveiled her to eagerly waiting members of dh's family wa a picture. All night we got 'what do her clothes mean then?' Grin

ollieplimsoles · 10/02/2016 21:24

Sorry little

How about Wilfred (nn Wilf)

I think its gorgeous, manly and will be lovely for all ages :D

MrsKoala · 10/02/2016 21:26

Our entire family wear Koala hats when we go out. My parents are mortified and Mum keeps telling me everyone is looking at us thinking we are 'the Twat family' Grin

Abbinob · 10/02/2016 21:35

Twat family is brilliant Grin

Little:

Linus? Ferdinand? Rowan?

MrsKoala · 10/02/2016 21:40

Rowan is one of my favourites.

Littleoakhorn · 10/02/2016 21:47

Ferdinand sounds dashing Wink

Maybe I should be aiming for "Jane Austen villain", except they're all known by their surnames. Anyway, I prefer my criteria to "easy to pronounce", "works internationally" or "consultant neurosurgeon"

RedToothBrush · 10/02/2016 21:49

DS went to his first gig at 6 months.

At 18 months he stares blankly at the tv when Take That come on. Totally not interested.

However anything where someone is playing a guitar keeps him captivated. This is a major blessing as he is a child that barely sits still for 2 mins. Sticking him in front of Jools Holland for half an hour is more effective than any cartoon.

It is clear he can tell the difference between 'good music' and pop shite, though DH is somewhat begrudging of his apparent like of U2.

He is most definitely a band tshirt and jeans baby. Everyone else can sod off.

I am stupidly proud and waiting for when it all goes wrong and he declares his undying love for the Justin Bieber of his day.

Bowie.

There done. On topic but still hijacking with talk of rock and roll band tshirts. You can buy him a Bowie baby grow with his name on for the double whammy.

StitchesInTime · 10/02/2016 23:05

Maybe they just liked the names Neil and Innes and it was a huge coincidence?

StitchesInTime · 10/02/2016 23:10

But on the note of people being bullied because of their names - I've just remembered that I used to work with a Michael Jackson.
He was born before the famous Michael Jackson got famous, so his parents couldn't have known. He got a lot of jokey comments about his famous namesake which he clearly didn't find amusing in the slightest.
