to ask if anyone just knew they were pregnant/felt different mere days after conception?

I think DP and I may have conceived eleven days ago. From two days after DTD I had lower back pain, cramping and increased cervical mucus. The last two days I've felt tired and queasy and my stomach is so noticeably bloated that two people have asked if I'm expecting today.

With my other (four) pregnancies I haven't known until after the positive test and of course I could be wrong but I feel similar to how I did at 5/6 months with the others Confused Has anyone else had signs this early/just felt they knew and was right?

Trying to hold out until the end of the week to test so it's not too soon; wasn't planning to conceive but we'll see what comes of the test, I guess...

Youve just reminded me an old work mate was telling us. That the night she concieved her dp said to her right after DTD. That's a boy, and low and behold. 9 months later. There he was

LauraMipsum · 09/02/2016 12:53

Nope. I had 3 goes at IUI - the second I thought I was definitely pregnant, sore boobs, bloated, weepy, the works. I wasn't. The third I was convinced I definitely wasn't - turned out the pre-menstrual cramps I thought I had were actually implantation pains and I was.

BaronessBomburst · 09/02/2016 13:04

I knew within three days. All food tasted fatty and greasy, and I felt dizzy. It was two week before I got a positive test.
I don't hold truck with the theory that it's scientifically impossible to know so early. It's also scientifically impossible for a bumble bee to fly.

Witchend · 09/02/2016 13:19

I knew I was when dd1 was about 2yo. I wasn't Grin

Jw35 · 09/02/2016 13:26

Yes after 5 pregnancy's (2 of them mc) I now now when I'm pregnant by 4-5dpo! These are the signs I have by around 10dpo

The first one is the first sign around 2-3dpo and I just know

Pinching/pulling pains under my belly button or sides
Dizziness or headache
Vivid dreams/restless sleep
Stuffy nose
Sore round the sides of my boobs or armpits
Itchy nipples or a feeling like falling over on concrete, also shooting sensations
Bleeding gums
Cramps calf muscles
Slight pain in hips
Fatigue
Metallic taste/dry mouth
Dry lips

Nausea doesn't usually start until 6-7 weeks for me though. Last 4 times I've thought I was pregnant I was! In fact I posted a similar thread to you last time and people said there's no way I could know! Well I'm 15 weeks now..Wink

Jw35 · 09/02/2016 13:28

Oh and I forgot a feeling of fullness, especially lying on my front. Almost uncomfortable

SockQueen · 09/02/2016 13:49

I didn't know, and had been TTC for over a year, and on Clomid, so was on the lookout for ANYTHING different. Felt a bit funny the day before I tested, but put it down to eating loads and being tired from a long drive.

I'm now 9 weeks and don't really feel "pregnant," just nauseated and exhausted.

Skiptonlass · 09/02/2016 13:58

Yup. I was convinced I was pregnant about six days after the event. No idea why. I remember it very clearly because it was the day we broke ground to build our house. It was -20 and I remember just thinking 'aha!'

Three days before a positive test (nine dpo) I was vomiting like a champion, and was sick every single bloody day until birth Envy

blueturtle6 · 09/02/2016 16:14

Sick 4 days after conception, but thought was just psychosomatic for another two weeks until bfp

mrsleomcgary · 09/02/2016 17:52

Dh and I had been using condoms but got 'carried away one night. Realised the next day I was due to ovulate in the next week (cycle varies between 28-33 days) and we decided to wait and see. a few weeks later I sneezed and my nipples started to tingle and I knew instantly I was. Tested positive a few days later.

SashaFierce99 · 09/02/2016 22:36

Jw35 Confused I had that exact feeling this evening; I laid on my front to read to the DC and I had to switch to my side because it was uncomfortable. Also feeling nauseous but could be from too many pancakes...!

Yes. I lost four babies to miscarriage before getting pregnant with my son.

Within about a day of conceiving him, I had heartburn and nausea and was sure I was pregnant.

However, it was probably just coincidence.

joeyno1 · 09/02/2016 22:40

I "just knew" with both! First I had definite implantation pain although I didn't realise that's what it was until later on. Second time I had bad heartburn one day, and I have never suffered with it except when pregnant with dc1!

MrsJorahMormont · 09/02/2016 23:06

I knew by 10 days after. It felt like I had the worst PMT in the world and I wanted to kill all the things. I POAS, saw the line and thought 'Ah. That explains it.' :o

MrsJorahMormont · 09/02/2016 23:07

By the way, the line was very faint and it was technically 'too soon' to test but it was a line and by 12 DPO it was bright pink.

elliejjtiny · 09/02/2016 23:51

I knew at 3 weeks with DS1 as my boobs went all hard and veiny. No idea with the others, I wasn't so obsessed with symptom spotting etc after the first.

MyBreadIsEggy · 10/02/2016 09:19

Oh you guys are filling me with hope Smile
I was all excited to take a test this weekend....but then I realised my parents are staying over at my house this weekend Hmm not that I begrudge a visit from them, but I don't think I would feel comfortable peeing on a stick and telling DH the result with my parents within earshot Confused

Crazypetlady · 10/02/2016 10:22

I knew I tested too early it was negative but I knew I had to test again so I did and it was positive no symptoms I just felt off

rallytog1 · 10/02/2016 11:15

I just knew with dd2 after a couple of days. I'm certain I felt implantation and at that second I had an overwhelming feeling that there was a baby girl inside me. Then my boobs felt sore the next day, which just confirmed it for me. Dh said he just felt I was pregnant too - so it was no surprise when a test was positive.

I spent the pregnancy telling myself there was no way my instinct about the sex could be right, and telling everyone the baby was probably a boy. Couldn't believe it when the mw held up my baby girl in front of me - I think there's a lot to be said for trusting your instincts!

WonderingAspie · 10/02/2016 11:34

I knew the day before I got pregnant that I was going to. I knew what it would be as well. I was right. It was the strangest feeling ever. All day going through my mind was "you will get pregnant tonight and it will be a girl". I was fairly sure after we dtd, I felt 'settled' like, ok its done now. No actual symptoms until the day before AF was due. Tasted like I had been sucking on a 2p coin so I tested. Was extremely faint, I had to tip it to the side in the light to see it. DH said I was imagining things so I sent him for a first response. Definite cross then.

Boomerwang · 10/02/2016 12:16

Nope. I started feeling sick in the car, but put that down to... well... car sickness. The day I kept feeling sick after getting out of the car was when the red flag went up. I've never kept track of my periods, they were just a nuisance, but it got me thinking about my last one and I couldn't remember when I had it. At my first midwife appointment after POAS confirmation she didn't seem to believe me when I said I had no idea when my last period ended. Why is that so hard to believe?

Boomerwang · 10/02/2016 12:18

WonderingAspie took me ages to figure out you meant 'auntie flo', I cannot keep up with all these mumsnet abbreviations and acronyms. (Might have noticed I proudly put forth 'POAS' just before this post. When in Rome and all that...)

bingandflop · 10/02/2016 14:05

OP does this mean you are now 13 dpo? Could you do a test now?

dollypartonwannabe21 · 10/02/2016 14:40

I know the moment I concived, The implantation set of a massive seizure. I had grown out of epilepsy at the age of 17 they did a pregnancy test at the hospital which came back negative, took another test 3 days later and it said 1-2 weeks. My DD is nearly 6 now and I still have regular seizures. So yes I do believe that sometimes you can know reall early on

WonderingAspie · 10/02/2016 21:01

boomerwang have you looked at the acronym list near the top? Will help hugely with wft posters are on about half the time Grin. But don't confuse AF (aunt flo) with AnyFucker, the poster who is sometimes referred to as AF, could get confusing. Grin
