to ask if anyone just knew they were pregnant/felt different mere days after conception?

I think DP and I may have conceived eleven days ago. From two days after DTD I had lower back pain, cramping and increased cervical mucus. The last two days I've felt tired and queasy and my stomach is so noticeably bloated that two people have asked if I'm expecting today.

With my other (four) pregnancies I haven't known until after the positive test and of course I could be wrong but I feel similar to how I did at 5/6 months with the others Confused Has anyone else had signs this early/just felt they knew and was right?

Trying to hold out until the end of the week to test so it's not too soon; wasn't planning to conceive but we'll see what comes of the test, I guess...

Yup within 5 days of DTD I was pretty sure.

Bisghetti · 09/02/2016 01:18

I've had five pregnancies (unfortunately only two babies) and I knew, because of a weird feeling in my stomach, by around day 21 of my 29 day cycle with each of them. I never felt that way any other time. Just a strange dragging feeling, a heaviness.

hufflebottom · 09/02/2016 01:59

Yes, felt like shit from day 1 and to be honest never really improved. Roll on the next couple of days. I'm getting bored now the last 9 months have taken forever

ollieplimsoles · 09/02/2016 06:35

About a week after dtd I knew, my skin all of a sudden went really oily and I had a weird feeling in my boobs.

I got a weak but definite positive at just 9 days past ovulation (we were ttc!)

allegretto · 09/02/2016 06:38

Yes, I had IVF and I wasn't really even nervous about the test as I already knew - my wee smelt different but the same as when I had been pregnant before!

HariboFrenzy · 09/02/2016 06:43

I had a very dry mouth and was very bloated with trapped wind. Got a positive about 10 days after these symptoms the day before AF was due

LastOneDancing · 09/02/2016 06:58

DC1 - my boob doubled in size the instant he was conceived and were agony (ok, slight exaggeration).

DC2 - not a clue. Although saying that, I tested early as I had a horrible vivid dream, which had been a symptom in my last pregnancy.

HippyPottyMouth · 09/02/2016 07:03

I was dizzy, lightheaded, felt 'off' and couldn't sleep. It must have been straight away as I didn't get a positive test for two weeks.

IdaShaggim · 09/02/2016 07:12

Started throwing up at three weeks, had no clue though until I was admitted to hospital that week with 'acute gastroenteritis'... Came out with a different type of tummy bug Wink

MyBreadIsEggy · 09/02/2016 07:14

I'm waiting to test at the moment, but I'm pretty sure I'm pregnant. I'm feeling the same way I did when pregnant with DD, cramping, bloats tummy, sore boobs, nose like a bloodhound, sicky feeling. I'm the same as you OP, we only DTD about 12 days ago when I got a positive ovulation test, but I'm sure I'm pregnant!

londonrach · 09/02/2016 07:17

I knew. No idea why as never been pregnant before and had no symptoms. I just knew. I remember saying aloud im pregnant and never done that before. Made the wait to the period unbearable but strange.

Mummageddon · 09/02/2016 07:20

Yes, I knew at three weeks because I felt slightly iffy. Not with my first pg, but with all four subsequent ones.
I have a short cycle and would get a positive test at cd22 though.

Vanillaradio · 09/02/2016 07:28

I knew after about a week as I felt nauseous and had a constant headache, no af symptoms arrived so I tested 3 days prior to af being due and bfn, got faint bfp on day af was due.

ManneryTowers · 09/02/2016 08:04

I am pregnant with DC2 and knew about a week after conception. I could smell everything really distinctly and my boobs hurt!

sparklewater · 09/02/2016 08:28

I thought I knew with DC1 but there were no symptoms etc, just a vague feeling.

With DC2 I woke up one morning and my boobs felt different. That was 4 days after sex, so pretty early. Waiting to test was frustrating!

0hCrepe · 09/02/2016 08:32

Just had period type cramps a week earlier than expected. Boobs weren't sore when they often were post ovulation.

drasticfantastic · 09/02/2016 08:37

With my first, no, not a clue until I missed my period.

With my second I was pretty sure from about 7dpo because I started getting waves of nausea before breakfast but the smell of toast made me want to heave too!

stumblymonkey · 09/02/2016 09:24

Scientifically it takes 6-8 days for the fertilised egg to travel down the Fallopian tube and implant.

There's no way that you could know before implantation as there is no way that your body would be able to tell.

With my first pregnancy I was able to tell from about 9-10 dpo. I had a dream about it and woke up feeling very maternal and protective and 'just knew'.

That being said I have been convinced with a plethora of symptoms - nausea, serious bloating, crampy feelings, etc - that I was pregnant the past two months and I definitely wasn't.

The increase in progesterone for a pregnancy is pretty similar to the increase that happens prior to your period so you can get all of the pregnancy symptoms just because of this progesterone.

srslylikeomg · 09/02/2016 09:26

i knew at 8 days past conception, because i slept so oddly deeply. it was like falling into a coma!

exLtEveDallas · 09/02/2016 09:38

I was on honeymoon and had a day during the second week when I thought I'd got the dreaded 'Montezuma's Revenge' - same day as the wife of of another honeymoon couple we'd made friends with. We both moaned about the 'dodgy cocktails' we must have had. We both had a sore stomach and sick/dizzy feeling without actually being sick.

About a week after we got back I told DH that I felt 'off' and said "Well I'm either pregnant or about to come down with the flu"

2 days later I found out I was pregnant - a couple of days before my period was due.

(And about a month later I had an email from the other newly-wed - she was also pregnant with the same due date as me - Montezuma's Revenge indeed!)

TheVeganVagina · 09/02/2016 10:06

I always knew when i was pregnant.
My dh would always kiss me on the lips goodbye, then would kiss my stomach. He didnt realise it at the time, consciously. First time he did it i thoughg he was weird. I was use to it after that! When he would do it i would think here we go again! Very sweet.

Cheesybaps · 09/02/2016 10:16

I did. I kept taking test after test for days until I got a positive, I just knew the negatives were wrong!

CantWaitForWarmWeather · 09/02/2016 10:20

With my 3rd I knew without a doubt. I could feel the implantation happening.

The test just confirmed it really.

BikeRunSki · 09/02/2016 10:24

When I must have been about 10 days post conception (and still too early to test) I was walking back from a friend's house with 2 yo ds in his buggy and I just didn't feel right. I didn't feel wrong, but I didn't feel right.

ppandj · 09/02/2016 11:12

Just after dtd DP said to me "I think we've made a baby", two weeks later I just had a feeling and got bfp. Can't explain it, we just knew.
