To be confused about this Zika virus 'threat' ?

It seems only 270 cases of microcephaly (babies born with small heads and brain impairment) have actually ben cvonfirmed in Brazil (pop' 200,000,000) and of those 270, only six were found to have the Zika virus?

Yet governments all over the world are claiming that Zika causes microcephaly. Doesn't make sense does it?

"Have I got that right? Frank Plummer, a Canadian microbiologist who worked for the WHO, said just about none of the people being diagnosed with SARS actually had the coronavirus."

That's not correct. Of 90 probable cases in Canada, 40% were positive for the corona virus, and of 95 suspect cases 35% were positive. He described the virus as 'weird'

He also holds up the international response as formative in how the international public health community should tackle outbreaks, with more openness and swifter co-operation, including getting the right resources to the task. That is a template for how WHO goes about declaring an international emergency such as this one.

The data fails to back up the hype?

You haven't read the data though, have you? Admit it.

"This is the first time that strain of Zika which has been showed to cause neurological disorders and microcephaly... has been detected in Africa," - WHO official. (Latest).

Earlier this year, it was claimed Zika virus has been in Uganda since the 60s!
So what it is the truth?!!

Africa is a fairly big place you know Hmm

Kassalina, I think in your quote they are referring to that specific strain of Zika (I've the one that they believe causes neurological problems) as being detected in Africa for the first time, At least that's how it reads to me.
