Getting married in June - AIBU in thinking I can lose 2 and a bit stones in time

I got engaged earlier this month and my fiance and I have now booked our wedding for June.

I would love to look great on my wedding day and I want to lose a tad over a couple of stones.

Losing weight before I find the 1st stone comes off quite easily and the weight loss then slows down. Is 2 stone feasible before June.

I am a 14 bordering on 16 and I want to get back to a 12.

Cheers.

I will be losing weight mainly through reducing my calorie intake. The additional exercise is to help tone and assist me with my weight loss.

Cheers for the good luck wishes too.

What happens after the wedding though? Wanting to be healthy is great but doing it for the sake of one day seems a bit mad to me.

you are clearly a serial yo-yo dieter. Might be worth looking at what is going on and why you are on this nasty cycle.

unless you are four feet tall, size 14 isn't that huge. Is your target weight realistic?

yo-yo-ing is really bad for health. Look at long-term lifestyle to keep you at a healthy weight, not just frilly-frock day.

Polgara I wanted to lose weight before. My wedding has given me motivation and a deadline. I did used to play a lot of sport and I was quite fit and healthy but I gained weight when I became too old to play my main sport. Love to get back to my old dress size.

Special I have only become a serial dieter in the last few years. No analysis needed - I just like food! I was able to keep the weight off before cos I played sport and burnt off tons of calories.

Size 14/16 is closer to 16 and it is realistic. The weight I want to get down too I weighed for a long time.

'Frilly frock day' Grin

Go vegan(no chips), walk at least five miles a day as fast as possible and swim hard for an hour and you will be fine, exercise is the key.

I rarely eat chips but I would struggle with no meat!! I am going swimming twice a week now and I will go more if I get time. I want to walk more and I will when it stops fucking raining! Cheers Quote
