I have heard so many people saying they have changed and horrible now. I just had one, tastes the same.

What's the big deal? I don't get it?

YABVU

It's not just the crime eggs (crime is an autocorrect but very fitting)

Half empty bags of mini eggs. Caramel that tastes synthetic. Dairy milk ruined. I used to love cadburys now it is all crap.

Catphrase · 26/01/2016 19:16

I'm more pissed off at the fact they haven't paid any tax in 5 years.

EdithWeston · 26/01/2016 19:18

It's still January!

Quietlifenotonyournelly · 26/01/2016 19:18

(As an aside: I was once told that M&Ms contain a substance derived from human breast milk to make them addictive.)

Weird, I wonder if there's any truth in that.

FindoGask · 26/01/2016 19:21

They're not interested in making chocolate that tastes good any more, they just want to make money. If that means sneakily making their products both smaller and shitter, they'll try it to see what happens: if enough people don't notice or don't care, it's a sound business decision. A parable for our times.

LittleBeautyBelle · 26/01/2016 19:21

Whoa! Thanks for all the information. Had no idea there was such a difference. I may order some UK chocolate online sometime. What are a couple of good brands? I love chocolate and if I've been missing out, then I want to correct that. I usually use Ghirardelli to bake with, but also Hershey's cocoa. I make a very good chocolate syrup with Hershey's regular cocoa and I'm addicted to Mayfield chocolate ice cream (in the yellow rectangular box.)

CrohnicallyAspie · 26/01/2016 19:22

I haven't had a creme egg recently, and hadn't particularly noticed much difference in cadburys, but then I realised I still have a tub of Heroes left over from Christmas, which is unheard of. Especially as I mean Christmas 2014.

NattyNatural · 26/01/2016 19:23

Little i would recommend galaxy. Yummy

Is this why there are so many variations of Dairy Milk now, filled with Daim and popping candy and mashed potatoes, is it an attempt to disguise the new taste?

livingintheNL · 26/01/2016 19:25

i make my own cream egg out of raw vegan ingredients. its amazing

LittleBeautyBelle · 26/01/2016 19:25

Thanks Natty

I've had those little chocolate bottles with liquor in them, the vanilla liquor (I'm not spelling that right, am I) was like nectar with the dark chocolate. I can't remember what brand, got them at Marshall's at Christmas.

NattyNatural · 26/01/2016 19:28

Gnocchi I have heard that they are putting more fruit in the fruit and nut bars because it's cheaper and they can use less choc

ItchyArmpits · 26/01/2016 19:28

YABU Sad

livingintheNL · 26/01/2016 19:30

im pretty sure they are taking out the whole nuts, will jutst be cheaper framents of nutsChocolate

Kingfisherfree · 26/01/2016 19:34

YABU - they used to be my favourite seasonal choc treat.

They are bloody grim now and my life is a mess. The sides are to thin and so when you bite into them they collapse into an embarrassing mess around your mouth and hand.

GingerNutRiskIt · 26/01/2016 19:35

Cadburys was once my favourite.
But it tastes like shite now.
I've swapped to Galaxy.
And Cadburys Creme Egg is just a splodge of grease and shit.

woollytights · 26/01/2016 19:37

They taste no different to me either really. Definitely overreacting to say they're disgusting and taste like shit. It's a bit like the m&s threads you find on here as well where people are livid about not liking the shop. You'd think they'd not give it much of a thought and just go elsewhere, but nope, mass outrage.

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 26/01/2016 19:42

Mini eggs used to be great. You could suck and suck one in your mouth and it would go to a great meaty texture. Doesn't do it anymore.

gamerwidow · 26/01/2016 19:43

I can't taste the difference either. Must have a very undiscerning pallete

Quietlifenotonyournelly · 26/01/2016 20:04

Cadbury oh Cadbury
What have you done?
Your chocolate tastes like shite nowadays
And really turns my tum.

As per a pp said, Aldis Moser Roth chocolate is much better.

RoboticSealpup · 26/01/2016 20:18

They stopped putting dairy milk on the outside

I thought they tasted better now! Cadbury's Dairy Milk what the hell other kind of milk is there, anyway? is the most cloying, sickly shit I've ever tasted.

NattyNatural · 26/01/2016 21:15

Kingfisher Thankshugs

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 26/01/2016 21:22

Yanbu OP, I still love then. I still buy Dairy Milk when I want some chocolate and I think you miserable lot slagging off Cadburys were obviously not real fans in the first place! Grin Chocolate

BabyGanoush · 26/01/2016 21:28

Cadbury's lost £6 million this year on Creme eggs, people have voted with their feet.

Kraft say they will try and improve packaging

Because, it's the packaging that's wrong Hmm

Think the beeb or Guardian had an article about it

Sallyingforth · 26/01/2016 22:46

Cashmere you're welcome to it. There's plenty to spare apparently :)

I'm sure there are many like you who still enjoy ex-Cadburys. After all, millions eat Hershey's and apparently like it :(

But some of us prefer our chocolate without the slimy aftertaste of palm oil. And we don't want to support a company that hasn't paid any corporation tax for five years, while sacking hundreds of workers by closing a factory they promised to keep open.
