I have heard so many people saying they have changed and horrible now. I just had one, tastes the same.

What's the big deal? I don't get it?

They have always been far too sickly.

MrsTrentReznor · 26/01/2016 18:33

YABU they taste like shit.
I used to eat way too many of them interspersed with caramel eggs for variety. I don't touch either any more.
They are waxy, not at all creamy any more I hate them now! AngryChocolate

Katedotness1963 · 26/01/2016 18:33

I've gone from chocoholic to I'd rather have nothing than Cadburys. They've absolutely ruined it! It's very disappointing...Sad

MiddleAgeMiddleEngland · 26/01/2016 18:35

They probably taste revolting, I'm not going to try one. I had one years ago and that was sickly and horrible enough.

All the palm oil they're using is an environmental disaster. For that reason alone I don't eat anything Cadburys. There's lots of lovely chocolate out there - please buy that instead.

And only 5 in a pack. The whole point was to have half a dozen in a pack like real eggs.

DH was heartbroken. He hasn't got over it yet.

TheSconeOfStone · 26/01/2016 18:36

YABU.

Sallyingforth · 26/01/2016 18:36

Yabu, have a non cadburys chocolate bar on me

I'm being teased by a couple of packs of Aldi's Moser Roth chocolate on the sideboard.
One is the Peruvian single origin 62% cocoa, (that's three times as much as in ex-Cadbury's 'dairy milk'). The other is their lovely mint chocolate - natural essence, not artificial flavour.
I just can't decide which to attack tonight.

And both these are cheaper than ex-Cadbury's. What's not to like?

MistressDeeCee · 26/01/2016 18:38

Im really surprised you can't taste the difference tbh OP. I will never buy a Creme Egg again

Sallyingforth · 26/01/2016 18:39

"All the palm oil they're using is an environmental disaster.*

No palm oil at all in Moser Roth.

Hulababy · 26/01/2016 18:41

I couldn't really taste much of a difference tbh.

Obladioblada · 26/01/2016 18:47

They were always disgusting anyway, shudder
Chocolate has to be Swiss or maybe Belgian!

LittleBeautyBelle · 26/01/2016 18:54

Out of curiosity, (I'm American), what is the difference between American and English chocolate? Are the ingredients different? I don't think I've ever tasted British chocolate. I love chocolate though, it is one of my daily must haves. I agree, some chocolate is awful tasting.

NattyNatural · 26/01/2016 18:55

Sally I had those from aldi last year. They were sold out constantly

Sallyingforth · 26/01/2016 19:00

Sorry Natty, that was probably my fault :)

BaldricksWife · 26/01/2016 19:01

Littlebeauty
I have family in West Virginia and they are obsessed with our chocolate. I have to send it to them all the time

LittleBeauty, much US chocolate is made using milk that has undergone lipolysis - a process which breaks down the fatty acid chains in milk. They do this to increase the shelf-life of the chocolate. Unfortunately one of the products of this process is butyric acid, which gives US chocolate its characteristic vomit-like taste.

nanetterose · 26/01/2016 19:07

I lived in the US for years.
It was a fantastic say when our Walmart started stocking lindor.
American chocolate has a hint of regurgitated cheesey vomit.

Might just me me though... Wink
Lots of my American relatives have no problem woolfing down those rancid kisses!

HooseRice · 26/01/2016 19:08

My DD received a box of FIVE wtf is that about and I tried one to see if what everyone was saying was true. It is, I won't be bothering again.

BalloonSlayer · 26/01/2016 19:09

Australian chocolate is horrible too. It has something added to stop it melting in the high temperatures of Australian shops 50 years ago. Very disappointing.

But I consider myself fussy about chocolate and I think Cadbury's tastes the same.

(As an aside: I was once told that M&Ms contain a substance derived from human breast milk to make them addictive.)

nanetterose · 26/01/2016 19:09

X posted.
I see it is an issue Grin

livingintheNL · 26/01/2016 19:10

TABVU

they are horrid.

Sometimesithinkimbonkers · 26/01/2016 19:12

Absolutely vile!!!!! I'd prefer an oatcake and peanut butter!!!!

fourkids · 26/01/2016 19:12

It tastes the same to me - Cadbury's, that is. I haven't had a cream egg for donkeys' years. I especially like Dairy Milk with Daim...
