Just 3 of many grim reports:

Because her care package was slashed, Rachel has to sleep some nights in her wheelchair, in pain, cannot get enough to eat and was diagnosed as malnourished.
Is the aim to kill her off, to save money ?

Luke who had schizophrenia and was unable to perform many simple daily tasks, committed suicide after his incapacity benefit was removed and his housing benefit cut.
Well that worked. He's dead now. No more costs.

Nick who has advanced MS cannot walk, feed himself or talk. The DWP said he would lose his benefits if he did not attend an interview.
Since he can only communicate by blinking, he was saved by having a partner who could phone on his behalf.
Curses, the Master Plan was foiled there.
Never mind, the DWP will try again later. He's too expensive to live.

How did we come to this ?
All in our name ?

there was a thread recently with info about the cuts in supported housing

will see if if i can see it

Dawndonnaagain · 28/01/2016 09:47

and adding insult to injury...

seasidesally · 28/01/2016 13:24

yes i saw that on the tv yesterday

wow what a selfless grandfather he is and with added health problems himself,i really have no idea how he manages actually how any of them manage

seasidesally · 28/01/2016 13:32

of cause Cameron's house probably had plenty of bedrooms when his son was ill and had plenty of help as they could afford to pay for it

he should be ashamed of what he is doing to the disabled and carers in this country, word fail me sometimes

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 28/01/2016 13:35

I saw him the other day. He's amazing. Exactly WTF am I paying my taxes for. Where are they going. Because seemingly,. Theyre not going to the needy. The government will look well if the whole nation decides to down tools for that reason.

SilverDragonfly1 · 28/01/2016 16:13

I knew the government would challenge it. There was a similar case a while back that they challenged and won, so why would they let it go this time? Sorry, too tired to research the case right now, but I am sure it was bedroom tax- perhaps families who needed the extra room for disability equipment and/or needed to sleep separately?

Makes me so angry I could ......scream.

Hi guys . Im new on here . Worryi g time for me . Anyone mived from dla to pip or in the process of or waiting to hear x

UnbornMortificado · 13/02/2017 21:38

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good people do nothing.

My mam used to work for citizens advice, she left as she couldn't cope with the system anymore.

Bex if it's MH related I might be able to help. Just pm if you don't want to say publicly.

That actually goes for anyone else struggling with the forms in regards to MH problems. Fuckers have made it pretty impossible to get PIP for it.

Babyroobs · 13/02/2017 21:42

I would advise getting some specialist advise to fill out the PIP form, either from a disability charity advocate or citizens advise.

Bexster02 · 13/02/2017 21:47

Dla to pip advice needed pls xx

UnbornMortificado · 13/02/2017 21:52

There's a few lesser known charity's who are a godsend when it's MH related. When DLA was changed to PIP it became a lot harder to "pass"

I got awarded 0 points at a medical (bearing in mind I'd got out a psychiatric hospital three days prior) to higher care and standard mobility on appeal.

Bex if it's a physical disability citizens advice will be your best bet if it's related to MH you might be better off with a smaller charity who specialise more on that side of things.

Bexster02 · 13/02/2017 22:01

Thankyou xx

Bexster02 · 13/02/2017 22:05

Hi hun . Thankyou for replying . Im lost with this , keeping loseing my messages off ppl lol . Anyway , yes mh plus serious physical injuries . Im on dla infefinate at mo but im worried as i kniw they r trying to get as many ppl off dla and pip as possible . I will be lost without my car x

Bexster02 · 13/02/2017 22:08

I dont understand why you got 0 points . Thats rediculous x

UnbornMortificado · 13/02/2017 22:20

I've heard worse. My mam had a client with a brain tumour (now deceased) get knocked back for PIP. By the time he's applied under the special rules (as he was terminal) it was too late to claim.

Citizens advice will probably be your best bet for the physical side of things but I'd maybe ask if they could recommend a charity that deals with MH exclusively for that side of things.

Im not criticising citizens advice at all but like I said my mam worked for them and always passed on MH claims to a separate advice place.

I wouldn't upset yourself unnecessarily until they write to you Bex, I can imagine the thought of losing your car and your independence is very worrying Flowers

Sallystyle · 13/02/2017 22:41

I am dreading the time when my husband has to move over to PIP. He still gets DLA which he was entitled to for life and we have been expecting the letter for a long time.

He can barely leave the house some days. If they declare him fit for work it's going to be horrendous. No one would employ him anyway and he simply wouldn't be able to work with any regularity. He wishes he could work with a passion. His self-esteem is in his boots because he doesn't work.

PIP is not fit for purpose and seeing the way they assessed a friend and then declared him not eligible for PIP based on a few standard questions which didn't apply to his condition scares me.

Bexster02 · 13/02/2017 22:56

It is worrying . Im only young , 2kids and my life still ahead of me . Its ppl like me who are honest and worked all their life that get punished . Benefit frauds will always knows how to work the system and thats why it is as bad as it is today xx

Bexster02 · 13/02/2017 22:58

Its discusting hun how we are been treat . Im dreading it too . Il never be able to work again . I would live to , tbh that was harder to get over sometimes than my actual injury . I hope all goes well for you and your husband xx

UnbornMortificado · 13/02/2017 22:59

U2 the appeal process is a lot fairer then the actual application and medical I found.

Of course there will be the issue of getting to the medical and appeal which they don't seem to take into consideration. It's shit.

Bexster02 · 13/02/2017 23:14

Well im ssking for my interview or medical whatever the hell it is tp be ay home snd someone who is mefically trained and knpws about my injury and the rest of my quickly failing body x

Bexster02 · 13/02/2017 23:17

U2 do you hanve a group called DAG in ypur area
I dont know if its just our town that has it x

Sallystyle · 13/02/2017 23:19

Never heard of DAG?

Becca19962014 · 13/02/2017 23:25

Our appeals are now only heard in court. No CAB in my county anymore so no representation possible at appeal (or medical) if on your own and it is, frankly, frightening. You are literally treated like a criminal (in same room with those who gave committed crimes waiting along with police).
