To think these are faulty.

Got these shoes for ds2 mid of sept/oct... (Outgrow his shoes) he went a full shoe size.

Unfortunetly MIL lost the receipt and they were also paid by a cash, however as I think they are faulty, rather than wear and tear, I took them back to the wynsors where mil purchased them, manager told me as I had no proof of purchase she could not do anything about them, I asked about transaction history or CCTV and she just basically said no proof, meh Hmm

I phoned head office who have been really good and they are going to look at the transactions between X and X dates.

However just wanted to ask if these are faulty shoes, ds had had say months wear (holiday times and weekend times etc) ds does not play football however does play yard games (bull dog, mams and dads etc)

What do you think? Also would have have took them back

Mil paid £30 for them, so not cheapish school shoes.

ugh can't believe you've put them on your kitchen worktop!

< misses point of thread >

DD was once so bloody awkward about shoes that she ended up with a pair from ShoeZone. They lasted One Week.

Actually she is still awkward and she's got another ShoeZone pair which are on their THIRD week!

Janeymoo50 · 19/01/2016 19:10

Does he wear them every day? Looks like wear and tear to me, not faulty.

AuditAngel · 19/01/2016 19:10

DD1 had a pair of startrite do something similar after 7 weeks, although the rest of the shoes still looked fantastic. I took them back, with my credit card statement and the shop exchanged them immediately.

DD2's Startrite shoes are starting to look really worn having been worn since mid September, the patent leather bring a bit damaged on the front. Although disappointed, I would not be returning shoes that are 5 months old.

MsJamieFraser · 19/01/2016 19:15

MsMims, I can't take the comments, as I said I'm not expecting anything really, I still do think they are faulty however. Blush

Also these shoes are described as school shoes, on the wynsors and sketchers website, if you put in black school shoes, thee come up.

Marcipex · 19/01/2016 19:18

They look very heavily worn to me, and ready for the bin.
I certainly wouldn't expect the shop to give me anything for those.

MsJamieFraser · 19/01/2016 19:19

I can take the comments... Bloody autocorrect.

Once again I am not expecting anything from the shop!

OP posts:
Marcipex · 19/01/2016 19:21

Okay, sorry.
Maybe buy another brand next time?

rosewithoutthorns · 19/01/2016 19:23

They were cheap and worn by a kid for umm how long? with respect OP I think you are being very unreasonable.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 19/01/2016 19:23

No, I don't think they're "faulty". I think they have received normal - but hard - wear daily for 3 months in all weathers.

Your average pair of school aged boys' shoes will not last as long as your own shoes. DS1 used to manage to get expensive Clarks school shoes looking scruffy & scuffed within a week - and to have completely worn them out 3 months later would not have been at all unusual.

DS2 was a quieter child (didn't run about as much, wasn't in to every puddle etc. etc.) and his always lasted until they were too small.

I would have felt like a prize prune taking them back in the worn out state shown in the photo, claiming them to be "faulty". I bet it gave the cashier a giggle after you'd left.

rosewithoutthorns · 19/01/2016 19:23

What are you expecting OP?

alaurar · 19/01/2016 19:23

They look worn out. I'm not saying they shouldn't have been more hardwearing but a lot of fashion is like that nowadays.

MsJamieFraser · 19/01/2016 19:25

BallonS that's what dh said also, bench has been bleached down... But Tbf I bleech the beach every week and the get detol on after every meal prepped. (Do so cause they are real wood, so quite anal about them)

Ds will be getting a new pair at the weekend or dh can will take him on Thursday if he finishes work on time.

As I said I'm not expecting anything, I did honestly think they are faulty.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 19/01/2016 19:25

But you said you were expecting something from the shop?

You said you thought you should have received replacement shoes didn't you? Confused

Sirzy · 19/01/2016 19:27

Ds has had Skechers since the start of the year and they are still in very good condition. He is a dyspraxic 6 year old so they have had some heavy wear too! I do agree with others they don't look like they have been well looked after

MsJamieFraser · 19/01/2016 19:36

No I said I would really like a replacement pair, but wouldn't fault the shop if we did not as their customer service has been great.

OP posts:
CocktailQueen · 19/01/2016 19:36

No, they don't look faulty to me. They look like they've been heavily worn by an active boy outside in all weathers, playing football, scuffing stones, etc. YABU.

DS's look like this after a few days....

rosewithoutthorns · 19/01/2016 19:38

I bet you would OP. I don't know where you get your gaul from to be fair Grin

MsJamieFraser · 19/01/2016 19:42

Beleive it or not I have no gual, I've got a shameful amount of clothes in the cupboard that I've not taken back... (New with tags) They are all in a case waiting to be put on eBay
when I can be arsed Hmm

TrafficJunkie · 19/01/2016 19:46

I only ever buy shockhorror SHOEZONE shoes, and they last longer than that. and all my kids love dirt. Worst I've had is scuffed tops. They've been in decent enough condition to have handed them all down. I bought Clarks once, and they grew immediately after September purchase, i was buying more in December. Good news is my youngest still has 3 pairs of shoes to work his way through.

Someone mentioned DMs.... Do your kids have to break them in as painfully as us adults do?

TrafficJunkie · 19/01/2016 19:49

To answer your question OP, i wouldn't take them back. I never have any expectations from kids shoes. I check quality in store or upon delivery, only then is it really faulty.

A guy once brought a table lamp back to a store i worked in, shade smashed in and cord dangling out of base. No receipt. I had to give him a refund on Managers orders. Didnt bloody want to though. Cheeky sod.

TrafficJunkie · 19/01/2016 19:50

Yep ive bought toughees on sale once and theyve been through 3 kids and currently on the 4th and not even a scratch. Soles nice and thick, barely worn through. Brill shoes.

rosewithoutthorns · 19/01/2016 19:50

So why are you taking this to the extreme then? That's weird. Even going so far as asking customer services to look at CCTBV Grin

ArkATerre · 19/01/2016 19:51

DS had a pair of shoes from Wynsors that fell apart in exactly the same way. Sold as school shoes, crappy glue job.

rosewithoutthorns · 19/01/2016 19:52

CCTV of course, apologies... multitasking.
