Would I be unreasonable to stop ds year 8 travel by car two hours with another parents plus male relative yo a football match. What worries me is the racist chants and banana throwimg , drinking and fights. Its a first league match. I only know what I have seen on TV.

Have been to matches at the Emirates, Old Trafford, Anfield, Goodison Park and Vicarage Road this season alone (hubby is a bit of a full spectrum football fan rather than just following one club, he'll go wherever he can get tickets or if friends are going - Arsenal are our local club) and no racist chanting anywhere. I really wouldn't be worried if I was the OP. There's a facility at most stadiums now to make an anonymous report via text too for racist/homophobic/etc language or other antisocial behaviour.

Hissy my DS is a ReDing fan though we live nowhere near. He has travelled to matches alone all over the country by train from age of 13..yes even Millwall.
He even worked at Millwall ground briefly in the catering section (selling pies ) when he was 16.
Lots of banter, swearing....never mentioned racism.

Some of the chanting is very funny.

YABU. I've been going to matches for over 30 years and I've never heard any racist chants. And I'm not white. My children are mixed race and go to matches with their white dad and have never had bad experience. DS 18 has had a season ticket since he was 12, and Dd will be getting one next year.
