not had enough wine this evening obviously, but aibu in thinking that asda have cocked up a bit when they describe sausages as veggie/vegan, have found quite a lot of stuff described as v/v when it clearly isn't ! some one needs a kick up the arse, oh, hang on it is probably a computer fault but don't people programme them any more - maybe i should slurp up and have another !

I'm strictly veggie (so no gelatine as well as no meat/fish) & have an anaphylactic dairy allergy & my funtimes physical disabilities mean sometimes I shop online. I've been caught a couple of times when recipes have changed & websites haven't caught themselves up. As you say prawns you'd think "errrrr", some other things...

But excited about vegan!Quorn but suspect I possibly shouldn't risk it due to cross-con. Better read ye olde packaging, hadn't I Wink

Never ceases to amaze me how many people don't seem to understand what vegetarian/vegan means. The nurse at my local hospital who at various points in my late teens & twenties informed me that the vegetarians at her church eat fish is lucky she's not tattooed with "they're not vegetarians, they're stupid pescetarians" across her evil face (so we're clear, her failure to understand vegetarianism = low on the list of her failure to provide adequate care...). I was very unwell, so may be wrong, but I'm fairly sure it was her who arranged my first meal in a few days be fish & potatoes in a creamy sauce...

I feel guilty when people say "so you're vegan" because I occasionally have egg/honey (at least, there may be honey in some things I've eaten as I don't screen for it, iyswim) & have a couple of wool jumpers & I just can't afford to import Grishko's vegan ballet shoes from Russia. (And then of course I have two cats who are obligate carnivores...)

I'd be a bit annoyed at having to plough through so much stuff that's completely irrelevant more than anything else I think tbh...

That's it Zebra - your cats have blackmailed ASDA, they think that if you order prawns by mistake then they will get them.

See, you'd be onto it there if only they liked fish. However, I'm now assuming there are some other cunning little pusscats at the root of this, sniggering behind their paws as their owner does their online shop...
