A copy of 'Gut - the body's most underrated organ' by guilia Enders. Present from my uni student DD. It was on my list.

I've nearly finished it already! It's so interesting.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 27/12/2015 14:44

mine was from DH who had all our video tapes of the kids and holidays etc put onto DVD's for me, we have been going to get it done for ages as we were too scared to use them in case the machine ate them, I was so pleased I almost cried. Had no idea he had taken them off to be done either.

foxessoxes · 27/12/2015 15:26

Chanel No 5 perfume. Love it, ran out last year and have been saving up for a new bottle with slummy change for a while now. Dad brought me a big bottle so should last me a good while as I dont use it very often.

DiseasesOfTheSheep · 27/12/2015 15:56

Wow, Greydog, you have James T Kirk's autograph? That must be worth a fortune Grin

Too literal?

Stanky · 27/12/2015 16:03

My ds bought me a little gift, chose it, wrapped it and wrote the tag. It was a lovely surprise, and I have put it in the cabinet with my other little keepsakes. :)

TheSpectreOfMorningtonCrescent · 27/12/2015 16:17

Ds3 being able to come home, thought he wouldn't make it. Slippers and some tatty Devine swallow tattoo earrings-I'm never ever having a tatt, but if I did that would be it.

Enkopkaffetak · 27/12/2015 16:54

A wonderful cake stand my children got together and chose / bought for me. (3 paid money one - the 12 year old- offered moral support they said )

I have been looking for one for ages but really given up thinking I would never find one I like.

I love it.

CrohnicallyAspie · 27/12/2015 17:17

I have a jigsaw and one of those folding board thingies to put it on, I've been doing bits to it every chance I get.

Also quite fond of DD's Lego sets, even if it's changed since I was a girl.

Gatekeeper · 27/12/2015 17:19

frankie001 · 27/12/2015 17:25

My niece got me a Hello Kitty sparkly watch. Haven't worn one for years but I have had it on every day.

ILoveWillSmith · 27/12/2015 17:26

Dh got me a record player along with a copy of an album I had when we first met (when I was 17) which he accidentally broke all those years ago! (I'm now 45!) Best present ever!

WyrdByrd · 27/12/2015 18:00

Sony headphones from DH and Kindle Fire from my parents, but extra special was DD's present - a DVD I've wanted for ages which she found on my Amazon wishlist, bought with her own money & wrapped herself (she's 11).

The Sound of Music companion book. DS1 (4) saw it in the shop and told DH to buy it 'because mummy loves the singing mountain film' Grin

Also a really beautiful, saggy, leather handbag from DM. My old one is on its last legs.

BonesyBones · 27/12/2015 18:13

SIL got me a fujifilm instax mini 8 camera which I love so much and was actually going to buy for myself. That is the best (material) gift by far.

DP asked me for a list with "a lot of stuff on so I can pick a few things and you won't know what to expect" but I forgot to write a list.

Every year for the last 6 years he's fallen for the "gift sets" and silly teddies which dominate shops at this time of year. But this year he'd actually listened and even though the actual stuff wasn't particularly spectacular for a gift, it was all stuff I'd mentioned wanting/needing at some point (tights, eyeliner, new notebooks etc).

The fact that he'd listened and knew what I wanted was better than any physical gift. except for maybe the camera.

ElfOnTheBoozeShelf · 27/12/2015 18:14

DH made me a pamper box, full of lovely bath things that I would never buy myself, complete with mini bottle of gin and luxury chocolates. So thoughtful.

RaeSkywalker · 27/12/2015 18:20

DH got me a Fitbit. I'm beyond excited by all the geeky graphs!! Xmas Grin

chipshop · 27/12/2015 18:23

Can't decide between a cream silk blouse from Hush or a gold iPad from DP.

DP's favourite presents are from me - a book about breeds of sheep and a massive bag of cheese balls.

We are quite different... Grin

teenmumandsowhat · 27/12/2015 18:30

My parents gave me a Henry Hoover! I was over the moon. been dropping hints all year

And on behalf of my dc's (both under 3) they got a wonderful fabric tote bag, with pictures of my dc's on.

Italianmoma1983 · 27/12/2015 18:35

A jo Malone candle from Dh, totally unexpected. It made me cry !! I love no malone's product

carabos · 27/12/2015 18:43

Bose sound system from DS1 and his fiancee. I'm listening to opera on it now - sheer bliss.

TenWineBottles · 27/12/2015 18:47
