Not A One.

It was all okay.

We did sail close to the wind with The Great HandCream Drama Fight but disaster was averted.

Thank The Great Sky Fairy.

I am now quaffing wine.

Today has, thankfully, been slightly less explosive, so far, despite a big DS2 meltdown, at lunchtime, because we refused to sit in an unlit room to eatHmm

Got out to the shops before most of the world could be bothered to wake up. DS1 has happily doubled the number of decorations on his little tree, for a couple of quid and DH is busy building a wooden table for the computer to replace the metal one that DS1 uses as a drumkit.

Had a lovely time, could have done with a bit more Wensleydale.

y0rkier0se · 26/12/2015 14:57

We've had a lovely few days & we all seem overjoyed with our presents. Such a let down! Will try for more drama next year Grin

Watchatalltimes · 26/12/2015 15:11

I had a lovely day yesterday. No drama at all. My ddad cooked the turkey - the first time ever and it was delicious. Xmas Grin.

Thornrose · 26/12/2015 15:38

ouryve glad the day wasn't quite as bad as yesterday.

Dd managed to keep her OCDs in check although seating had to be carefully managed at all times. [tense]

StellaAlpina · 26/12/2015 15:39

Me either, everyone complemented my cooking (first time hosting, or even cooking a roast by myself) and it wasn't even that hard to do i know im being smug

Both sides of the family found something to chat about.

And I now have really cosy slipper boots and a nice colouring book :)

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 26/12/2015 15:40

We had a minor drama when I was asking for my spud water for the gravy and it transpired tht DH had thrown it away in his enhusiasm to leave as few dishes to wash up as possible. He left the room when I snapped but I am not contrite: throwing away the spud water is Against The Rules. Besides from that, all fine, although Dad has now managed to break the shelf of the new fridge 😱

ElfOnTheBoozeShelf · 26/12/2015 15:40

All lovely here as well - I confess myself surprised Grin

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 26/12/2015 15:41

Not Dad - DD!

passmethewineplease · 26/12/2015 15:44

No drama here either. We have had a bit of a spat with DPs mum and dad but that was about four weeks ago so I'm not classing that as Christmas drama!

Just been a relaxing couple of days, DP did a great dinner, I've done nothing. Grin

apart from open countless toys. Why are they so bastard hard to get int to?!

VinylScratch · 26/12/2015 16:09

No drama here either, the only person who didn't like their present was the cat who has not deigned to set foot in the new bed Santa brought her and is sleeping on the floor beside it Hmm.

Salmotrutta · 26/12/2015 16:13

You thought your cat would like her present Vinyl? Hahahahaha.

Cats never like anything you get for them.

Grin

Lesson well and truly learnt. The bugger will get sweet FA next year.

nokidshere · 26/12/2015 16:18

No drama here Grin just the 4 of us plus MIL for a few hours. Cold salady lunch, lots of chocs and wine. Everyone loved their presents and we played monopoly 😄

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 26/12/2015 16:20

It was peaceful and all went well Chez SanDiego.

BiL did get pissed but remained civil and didn't go down the 'poor me, why is it always me' route which can happen when he's overdone the drink.

I was a teeny bit worried about the number of roasties I had made ... But it was okay in the end.

I'm glad you found us Maryz.

It could have been Hell out there but it wasn't.

Nothing to see here.

Turkey was perfect, dinner lovely as usual but only drama- roast potatoes a bit over done!!!

We've had a shitty year and can't be doing with drama at all.

It's lovely hearing tales of cosy lovely Christmasses

Summerisle1 · 27/12/2015 00:50

Our Christmas was notable for the lack of any sort of drama whatsoever. Instead, we had an all-round excellent time.

JustBeingJuliet · 27/12/2015 01:39

Yep we had a drama-free Christmas here too. Spent the day with ds, my dad and my cousin and her family. We all got on, dinner was gorgeous and, apart from ds being a bit overwhelmed by it all, everyone was happy.

aurynne · 27/12/2015 01:43

No drama here either, probably because we chose to spend Christmas Day with friends instead of family. Had an absolute blast of a day, eating, drinking, talking and laughing, and eating and drinking some more. I think we will spend Christmas with friends forever more.
