Usually I could contain myself & not write a post on here, but that advert has surpassed all xmas ads (including pretentious perfume ads) as the worst xmas ad this year.

It is so embarressing and cheesy

aibu to just want it too stop!?

sparkling- really like the co op one, simple message, no cheesiness.

sparkling dramatic music and 'interpretive dance' around the dinner table for HOF

Sparklingbrook · 23/12/2015 20:57

I don't think I have seen that Little. Sounds a right treat. Sad

stuck i just love it and it's really short. Unlike the man on the moon/mog/M&S et al.

BrandNewAndImproved · 23/12/2015 20:57

It's the song "you don't own me" and I end up shouting no and I don't fucking want to.

Grilledaubergines · 23/12/2015 21:01

MacDonalds one confuses me. And it's very naff.

House of Fraser as however, bloody love it. So much better than smushy stuff. And it works. Whether you like it or hate it, opinion is strong so mission accomplished as far as they're concerned.

Oh I love the co-op one with the ice. It makes me teary every time I see it.

CFSsucks · 23/12/2015 21:04

Me and DH were also waiting for a crash, that's exactly what's it's like so I've never been able to get past that enough to watch it properly. For that it is indeed a shite Christmas advert.

Sparklingbrook · 23/12/2015 21:06

I have seen one advertising not drink driving. There's a woman at the station in pouring rain begging her other half to pick her up. He doesn't. But they recreate the crash on the sofa. Confused

BrandNewAndImproved · 23/12/2015 21:11

The only advert I really liked was the Spanish one that a MNetter linked to in a previous thread. Mog was ok, it doesn't annoy me.

it's actually lovely.

I think I saw the one eyed teddy usual. Wondered if it was the Thomson one again. Hmm

Sofas, holidays and bedroom furniture.

RoboticSealpup · 23/12/2015 23:34

All adverts are annoying, but I don't hate this one because the cheeky little girl in the middle is so cute.

Kitsandkids · 23/12/2015 23:54

Has the little girl been in something else? The first time I saw it I was convinced I knew her from somewhere but can't think what.

FlatOnTheHill · 24/12/2015 00:01

I think the little girl in the middle is so cute on the McDonalds ad.

LittlrG69 - yep the gluten free Latimers advert with the lanky wanky son. Makes my fillings rattle.

JoffreyBaratheon · 24/12/2015 01:24

Yes, what are Tesco thinking with the awful family with their rather simple man-child son? They're not going to claw their customers back from Aldis and Lidl with that. My favourite xmas ad has probably been the Aldis pisstake of John Lewis.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 24/12/2015 02:47

Annoying. RL just aint like that.

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 24/12/2015 03:35

DH thought it was one of those road safety at Christmas adverts. It was so twee he was convinced they were going to be in an accident with the tagline "don't drive tired at Christmas'l" or some bollocks like that.

Shutthatdoor · 24/12/2015 04:03

Really don't like the House of Fraser one at all.....

jorahmormont · 24/12/2015 05:30

The House of Fraser one just seems wanky and pretentious much like HOF in general

Crazypetlady · 24/12/2015 10:48

Hate the mcdonalds advert. It would have been better if the cashier had pelted them with nuggets as they left.

JoffreyBaratheon · 24/12/2015 16:18

Yes the House of Fraser one is like an Art student's 'happening'.

SirChenjin · 24/12/2015 16:23

House of Fraser one is utter shite - yy to art student's 'happening'. If you're going to do an anti Christmas ad it's got to at least be good in order to pull it off. Expressing your 'rebellious' side through the medium of expressive dance isn't really enough.

I quite like the McDs ad - winding dad up with bad singing features heavily in our car journeys. Wonder where it's filmed? Looks like the most picturesque McDs ever.

Iwanttokillthem · 24/12/2015 23:38

Oh - its the House of Fraser then , that advert with You dont own me as the theme song. I didnt know. But it irritated me every time it was on. Whats the point of an advert showing your stuff if you dont actually show the stuff? Thats what irritated me every time I watched.

I hate hate hate the tesco ad. I dont know who its trying to speak to but it aint me. Im Aldi all the way and have been since it come to town.

Katarzyna79 · 24/12/2015 23:47

i found the ad cringe worthy, and it wreaks of big corps it will drive business out not drive thru.
