For me it was probably my first pregnancy. I was over the moon to be pregnant after a previous late miscarriage and, after an anxious and nauseous beginning, I had a pretty straightforward time. I felt optimistic at last and there was so much I was looking forward to.

Would it be awful to saw before we had the kids we had a happier marriage?

We had so much more money, went on holiday all the time, did whatever we wanted. Had sooooo much sleep...

So probably when I was 25-29 we were happier but when I had ds at 30 I was the most happy I've ever been.

Although I can't fathom it, my instant thought was when foetal!!!!!

LOL Mmmcake. I can see how that could be a scary time in many ways though. Lots of things you didn't understand and had no control over. Unexpected loud noises even.

When I had my little boy in May 2013, fantastic until he suddenly died almost 13 months later. I've since had a little girl (8 months old now and she's lovely) but I'll never, ever be as happy as I was when he was here. We miss him terribly, he should be an excited 2.5 year old bouncing off the walls looking forward to Christmas.

Probably the year I did my Masters (aged 30) I had wanted to do it for most of my 20s but finances prevented it. It felt my life was finally getting back on track, after it had veered off course and I'd got stuck in a variety of dead end jobs. After that I did my PhD and am now .... Stuck in a part time, low pay dead end job in the service sector.

Oh well, fun while it lasted.

Being at university and doing my Masters. NOT my PhD.

First five to six years of married life. Getting married did wonders for my physical health, and having children actually improved my health too.

I'm still happy, but it's been a tough past four months so my judgement is a bit clouded.
