To think Ferrero rocher is a lazy gift!!

Ferrero rocher are nice I guess, but to give as a gift at a party you've had plenty of notice of...probably being totally U and ungrateful. Boxes of roses and quality street also fall into this bracket of lazy gifts IMO...

Not necessarily party gifts but gifts in general -

Wine from your own stash - lazy
Gift voucher - lazy
Money in an envelope - lazy
On-line purchase and sent to recipient gift-wrapped - lazy
Getting your PA to buy, wrap and send gift - lazy
Bouquet of garage flowers - lazy
A delicious box of original FR giving lots of thought to the recipient and patiently queued up for in Tesco or similar - not lazy and much appreciated GrinGrin

Lazy or not, they were on my mum's Xmas List so she's getting some!

(although she is getting other stuff too so hopefully that means I'm not lazy)

I hope someone's lazy enough to get me some. 😋

StellaAlpina · 19/12/2015 19:36

I always get a box from MIL for my birthday, I look forward to them :)

My birthday's just after christmas and I alway get a nice christmas present from her so I can understand it being hard to think of two nice presents in a month!

EDisFunny · 19/12/2015 19:41

I hate them but it's no worse a gift than a bottle of wine or box of lindor.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 19/12/2015 19:42

Oh dear. I brought my mum a box from DD for xmas.

In my defence, she's a pain to buy for.

SevenOfNineTrue · 19/12/2015 19:42

TABU. I think they are lovely.

Thaisa · 19/12/2015 19:44

Ferrero Rocher are not even nice
Well, quite. Give me 'boring, old-school Thorntons' any bloody day. Wink

As for your DD's grandparents, Evans... Xmas Shock Words fail me.

Aeroflotgirl · 19/12/2015 19:45

If I were having a party, Ferrero Rocher would be the ideal gift, they are my favourite chocolate.

Scarletforya · 19/12/2015 19:49

Yeah, the pound/Euro shop. Confused Nasty, plastic, eighties pseudo chocolate.

I don't like them, but I still don't think they're a BAD gift because how would somebody else know I didn't like them.

I'd prefer just chocolate brazil nuts though if you're asking.

FourEyesGood · 19/12/2015 19:57

YABU. If they're good enough for the ambassador, they're good enough for me.

TeaFathers · 19/12/2015 19:57

Yeah it is lazy. but i like them, so its ok.

Mince314 · 19/12/2015 19:58

my son saw that ad years ago and said that they should unwrap them before serving them. I agreed. Imagine going to a posh do and having to unwrap your own food. Wine

Thurlow · 19/12/2015 20:01

They might be lazy, but surely most gifts are, especially the sort of thing you take when you go to a party? You go to a party, you know you ought to take something, and it ends up being wine, chocolates or flowers, normally. And none of them require any more thought than scanning the shelves for what looks alright.

I bloody love FR though. I hope someone gets me some for Christmas now.

NoMilkNoSugar · 19/12/2015 20:01

Now I love them, but would never but them for myself, however they are a filler present. You buy them to go with something else.

Bakeoffcake · 19/12/2015 20:02

YANBU

They taste like cardboard.

Notimefortossers · 19/12/2015 20:05

YABU

And I really want Ferrero Rocher now

Hatethis22 · 19/12/2015 20:09

They're Christmas food to me, like mince pies.

BlueMoonRising · 19/12/2015 20:12

I think as a gift for attending a party, a 'lazy' gift is normal - chocolates, wine, flowers.

What do you expect to receive in return for hosting a party?

Crazypetlady · 19/12/2015 20:13

This thread is full of ungrateful people. Considering some of the terrible gifts people post about on here Ferrero rocher is nothing to complain about., YABU

Ferreros are lovely.

Hatethis22 · 19/12/2015 20:16

Money in an envelope is appreciated here Grin

chocomochi · 19/12/2015 20:16

YABU! I love them and love to receive them as a gift!
