...Breed? It not the apparent lack of any genitalia so much as the shapes of them and genetics. If Mr Tickle was to have children with Little Miss Tiny, would the children be tiny with huge arms? Slightly smallish with quite long arms? Could the tickle/tiny genes be totally dominant so that all children will be tiny or long armed? Or even worse, both tiny AND long armed?

They are probably too old for breeding now...

ChocolateFuzz · 11/12/2015 07:02

There's a slightly disturbing fan fiction about everything

PurpleGreenAvocado · 11/12/2015 07:11

I'm so sorry to break the terrible news to you I'm not really but they are all humans dressed up.

ChocolateFuzz · 11/12/2015 07:13

Can you imagine what Mr tickle's mum went through during birth? Did he even fit or did she walk around for a few months with an arm hanging out?

Bettercallsaul1 · 11/12/2015 08:46

Shock Shock Grin

lorelei9 · 11/12/2015 09:34

Isn't it the case that although they change throughout the book, the last line is usually a nod to suggest them going back to what they were?

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 11/12/2015 09:39

Mr Strong has a job

heavenlypink · 11/12/2015 09:56

Brilliant thread!

Child of the 70's and I still have all of the original Mr Men books - cost around 30p each

May have to get them out to relive the memories Wink

MaisieDotes · 11/12/2015 10:10

It can't be sexual reproduction because the Mr Men existed for quite a while before any little Misses came on the scene.

It must be the amoeba-like reproduction as PP suggests.

DrDreReturns · 11/12/2015 10:16

Mr Nosey has got a thing for the twins. Perhaps they'll have a threesome.

Bettercallsaul1 · 11/12/2015 12:18

Isn't it the case that although they change throughout the book, the last line is usually a nod to suggest them going back to the way they were?

You're right, lorelei - the change in their characters is more of a "vast improvement", rather than a total transformation. As in Mr Mean giving giving his brother two lumps of coal for Christmas at the end of the book, rather than one!

lorelei9 · 11/12/2015 12:36

Thanks Saul.

DrDre - twins? I don't know of any Mr Men twins...?

DrDreReturns · 11/12/2015 12:49

They're Little Miss Twins!

Siwi · 11/12/2015 12:53

Did Bob and Wendy ever get together in the end?

DrDreReturns · 11/12/2015 13:03

Oh lorelei9 regarding Mr Tickle, little Miss Magic found a way to stop him. Eventually she relented though and allowed him one tickle a day.

lorelei9 · 11/12/2015 13:06

oh thanks DrDre - not that, er, familiar with Little Miss. Very disappointed that Miss Magic let Mr Tickle have one.

DrDreReturns · 11/12/2015 13:09

My daughter likes the Little Miss books Grin

lorelei9 · 11/12/2015 13:14

DrDre - I don't have children. It's perfectly fine to say you like reading them yourself Grin

every time I buy a book for a friend's kid, I read it myself first. In fact, with Mr Men in London, the guy in the bookshop didn't know it was there and I got the last copy, so he tried to delay me with conversation while leafing through it. So I said "look I can see you want to read it, just read it and don't sell it to anyone else while I nip to another shop and I'll come back after that". These books aren't really meant for kids anyway Grin

florentina1 · 11/12/2015 16:26

I wanted to read the whole thread but was devastated by what Mrs LH has said. Sob sob sobbity sob.

lorelei9 · 11/12/2015 16:35

florentina1 - what can I tell you? Mrs LH is wrong. There's no way to ban the non-believers from the thread, sadly. They are just bitter. They have no room in their tiny hearts for the Hargreaves clan - they know this makes them very very wrong, so their alternative is to deny their existence.

(I reckon it's a scam and Mrs LH also secretly houses the shopkeeper when he's not appearing in front of Mr Ben).

originalmavis · 11/12/2015 17:29

Hang on, page 3 and the joy suck club haven't arrived? What's going on?

MERLYPUSSEDOFF · 11/12/2015 19:11

Why did Mr Strong totally change shape? Or is it not really Mr Strong but an imposter from another kids book?

TiggyD · 11/12/2015 19:23

You're talking about that terrible cartoon series? Arthur Lowe is the only voice of Mr Men.

pigsDOfly · 11/12/2015 19:26

Really OP, I've noticed that you haven't put 'light hearted' against your thread title. Not good enough.

First World problem, much.

Just thought I'd put that in there for you OriginalMavis Wink

TiggyD · 11/12/2015 19:38

It's not a light hearted thread. We need to know more about this species in case it ever becomes endangered, possibly due to a boom in the womble or flump population: both vicious predators. It also seems we can learn about nurture/nature from these creatures. Do they turn into what they're called, or are they called after what they're like?
