to put extra black bin bag out with neighbours?

Stupid three black bin bags a fortnight!

I have five this week. Neighbours have one or two black bin bags.

I think it's ok to add one of mine to their pile but my daughter thinks it would be a faux pas of the highest order!

And as such she won't be arty to helping me put the bin bags out!

Would you mind? The bags are double wrapped, no holes and only go out in the morning.

Our wheely bins are 1/2 mile away. The bin lorry won't come up our track. This means we often take a bag of rubbish down to what should be an empty bin, only to find that some cheeky neighbour/villager has filled it.Angry

This rules out popping it in on the way to work, as we're then stuck with it in our car all day, so we make an extra drive down in the evening or have to go to the skip at the weekend. Not very environmental friendly. I have been known to just sit and wait if I see someone randomly stopping opposite our bins, they're obviously waiting for me to go - eventually they slope off looking peeved!

Wouldn't it be better to keep the bin at the house & take it down for collection?

Keeptrudging · 10/12/2015 09:01

It's a big bin, doesn't fit in the back of my car, the thought did cross my mind but not doable! We end up keeping the bags in an outhouse and trying to get down ASAP after bin has been emptied to put them in!

Could someone bike whilst pulling it?

Put a lock on it?

LeaLeander · 10/12/2015 13:06

I'd put a lock on the bin. Ten-minute job and it would save all the other hassle.

They make push-button combination locks so you wouldn't even have to deal with remembering the key. Inexpensive on Amazon.

I'm giggling at the ideas here, our track is not conducive to cycling with a wheely bin Grin! Did think about lock, but I'm an airhead so would probably forget to unlock it on bin day, unfortunately.
