This is hilarious!
I manage to avoid all this attachment to spots, lockers or seats by going to my gym at off peak times, when no one is there and then I get my choice of a place in the change room.
I spread out my stuff and take my time. There are occasions when the only other woman there will strangely take the locker right next to me, but I move so we both have space.
I prefer one treadmill as the others are too close to the a/c unit and I get cold, and I like a little spot on the floor to do yoga in, as the floor is flat there and it's against the wall, so I can stretch, and sometimes get a little miffed if I have to wait if there's a bug burley bloke lifting weights in it.... depends if he's cute or not obvs.
When I'm swimming I'm sure I make the lane swimmers seethe as I use the casual section to do aqua aerobics, not thrash up and down like they do.
I think they should move to the lanes section, but they don't bizarrely!
I have been known to let my noodles float into their frothy paths.....
When I did yoga in a very cold concrete floored church hall, I loved having my mat next to the heater as I feel the cold, but would budge up if someone wanted to share, and wouldn't mind if someone else was there before me. I considered it part of my yoga practice to let go of attachment!
But I know I prefer to be warm, so I'd try and get there early!!!
