Since joining the gym 2 months ago, every time I have been I have used the same locker, number 91 to be exact. But today when I got there its key was gone and somebody was using it Shock
Aibu to feel sad 'my' locker was gone. 91 felt familiar and number 92 just wasn't the same.
I also don't like it when I can't park in my favourite space Grin anyone else secretly own public objects? Tell me it's not just me lol.

I get the commuter on the platform, you know where "your door" is so you stand where you can walk straight on and claim your Sean. I wouldn't tell someone it was my space but I would stand in front of them or next to them and tut inwardly to myself.

I park in the same parking space at my gym, use the same locker ( number 19), the same shower and have favourite equipment in the cardio room. There are also special kettle bells that are 'mine'.

im dreading January when there's the annual influx of newbies Sad

I still remember one class at the gym where a newbie started. She was there first, so bless her, had no idea she was putting her mat down in the wrong space. Problem was that the person who's space she had taken then moved over, taking someone else's space... who then turned up, looked aggrieved, took another person's spot... and so on.

V unpleasant atmosphere that day, the new person must have thought we were all proper grumpy sods!

We have 'our' row of seats at church, and at work I have my seat at the conference room table for meetings. When DS was a baby I had my own trolley at Tesco with a different kind of baby seat mounted on the top.

I always use locker number 101, affectionately known as 'Zoe'.

I have a 'seat' on the train and really hate it when someone else parks their bum there first. I could just leave five minutes earlier......

I "own" a space at work and get really narky if someone else is parked there.

Reality is the whole company can park where they want but it's a habit I'm in

Zoe 101 Grin

I guess we are all creatures of habit then really. It's like when you go on a course for a few days, everyone sits in the exact same seats everyday Grin and if someone dares to move its like wtf are they doing sitting in my seat lol.

I've been working in an archive this afternoon where you are only allowed to take a pen and pencil in with you. Woman in the locker room told me she always uses locker number 3.

i loathe people who have spaces at gym classes

I am not so stuck in my old fucker ways to do this

I have 'my' locker at the gym, and 'my' space in the studio for classes. Strangely it is different for each class I do. I am not fussed about my spin bike though, as long as it isn't front row. I don't think people should be subjected to a view of my backside. Xmas Grin

God no, I'm the opposite.

I always try and mix everything up including at home - what sofas we all sit on or where we sit at the table.

It's a bit old fogeyish otherwise.

I too am flexible and free and generally better than all of you

We still spring out of my dad's armchair when he enters the room.

I refuse to let this happen in my house!

So that explains why, when I go to a new class at the gym, disgruntled women put their mats 2 cm from mine and look at me with murder in their eyes.

I am in 'their' floor space!

I have 'my' locker at the gym too (no. 40) Grin and like MrsMeow, if someone has had the effrontery to use it I have to chant the new number under my breath all through my session.

But that aside- I'd like to know more about Whataboutreindeer's commute- "I get the commuter on the platform, you know where "your door" is so you stand where you can walk straight on and claim your Sean."

Are there enough Seans to go around? Does everyone get them? Do the Seans have any forewarning of the imminent claiming? What if you fancied, say, a Fred instead Grin

I had this in the swimming pool, for 6 months straight, 4 times a week I had the same locker and when I couldn't have it once I became convinced I was going to drown or some other horrible fate would occur. Needless to say it was a pointless worry.

I have my parking space near the school which is easy to get in and out of and past the lollipop man.

Our seats at church which sometimes people sit in if it's a big mass like Easter or Christmas.

I take my Nan to bingo and she has her favourite table. Twice someone has sat there and she has asked them to move. I was mortified but they did move both times.

I also have my spot in the playground which I get most put out if someone is there.

Yes!!!
The cubicle in the health club, on the left is MINE!!! As was the tiny private bit of the pool that was off in a sort of alcove. I'd do little mini laps in there away from all the fit bods who would take the piss. I got not so secretly infuriated if someone were in my area lol.

I get on at the end of the line so I own a seat in the tube. I'm always very put out if I find someone sitting in 'my' seat!

Shodan I find Seans much more comfortable and clean than Freds. I find most people want to sit on Sean's lap, lean back against his strong back and feel his arms around them. Some people put their feet up on Sean, this is the height of rudeness, the poor chap. Fred bare can often be found on the old Sam door rolling stock, though I'm not sure much if any of that still exists. I used to love having my door open ready to jump out at St Denys before we'd even stopped. Such a thrill seeker.

I nearly snapped a key off once when I had to use other than my locker

and if I have to stand in another part of the studio for my class I cannot enjoy it

but I'm not too stressed about which shelf I put my towel on by the pool

Locker 13 is mine. I can manage with 17, and 15 is somewhat acceptable, but if all three are taken I'm all off-kilter.

I have a spot I stand in for the train, and silently hate anyone else who dares stand in it. I also have a preferred ticket machine and cash point, but that's more negotiable.

When I traveled from a small station all the commuters had their own spot and would give snide eyes to any newcomers until they fell into line. Though none of them was hated as much as the little creep who used to walk along side the train as it stopped so he could get on at the "best" door.
