Btl is a fools game these days

It seems clear that the gov are targeting this, with removing the interest tax relief, charging 3% extra stamp duty on second homes.

Its no surprise as they will care less about someone with 10 btl then 10 people who want to buy.

I know a lot on here have portfolios, are people buying more? Selling? Or keeping steady?

On the new rules you need to read the consultation - they have not fixed the rules yet.

www.gov.uk/government/consultations/consultation-on-higher-rates-of-stamp-duty-land-tax-sdlt-on-purchases-of-additional-residential-properties

So if a child might buy a buy to let and live with parents until they can afford to move in as my daughter did and my son probably will the consultation says they do not propose having the high stamp duty whereas if a parent gives a parental guarantee which these days forces them on to 1% holding on the deeds that is counted bizarrely and unfairly as a second home unless enough people lobby on the consultation to the contrary.
