to think that Body Shop body scrubs are never used?

I have had 3 of these in gift sets in the last year or so and they are gathering dust.

I did try using the chocolate one I got but it is messy to scrub around and looks like poo and I prefer other methods of exfoliation.

I can't be the only one not to use them but is there anyone who does?

Body Shop (back in the 80s) did huge bottles with hand written labels and pump dispensers.
Green shampoo (smelled like fresh grass) and Hair Salad (clear 'oil' but not oily conditioner)
Refilling the clean bottles got you money off.

Passionfruit cleanser aaaaahhh yes.

And they had the BEST henna Grin

I bought some Grapefruit scrub it's gorgeous.
I like the Absinthe Handwash as a shower gel (I think 250ml but a pump bottle)

The original Oat&Honey face scrub (I bought the newer one, not the same)

What I would change?

The special offers are good but the newer things aren't included.
I like how everything is grouped by fragrence or function

Some of the sales assistants are a bit full on (most most are ok)

For scrubs, I like some of the Soap&Glory.
Not the breakfast one (too sweet). The lime one in a jar is good but hard work (I usually do 50:50 with the showergel) or the one in the pink tube (smells fruity)

LOL at 'sand milk', Brian... I didn't realise that anyone actually USED body scrub... Blush

strawberry back in my youth the body shop was the only place like it. The early issues they campaigned on like against animal testing, fair traid, vegetarian, are much more mainstream now (as a result unfortunately).

Now all I see is the Body Shop branding, slightly overpriced yet always offering discount codes, lots of attempts to do "grown up" oils and creams and the like and poor shop assistants obviously made to pounce on anyone who ventures in.

I only buy the body butters and shower gels in the core flavours, that's what they're good at and that's what they should stick to!

Nor me. Nor body butter or body lotion either. What is the point? What terrible thing is supposed to happen if one doesn't?

The microbeads in scrubs are disastrous for water creatures.
Sad
Make your own salt or sugar scrubs, or use scrubby gloves.

Yes they totally went against everything they stood for when they sold out to L'Oreal.

I live the body butters. Grapefruit is my fave.

But I don't get on with the scrubs.

Am currently using st Ives apricot scrub as a body scrub as it ruined my face. Again.

CoolSummer · 21/11/2015 16:44

How does everyone have all the time to apply the butters, rub it in, wait for it to soak in before getting dressed...??

Twindroops · 21/11/2015 17:02

I watched the same programme about the plastic beads- body shop use crushed walnut shells, I checked before I bought any more!

I love the shea, argan oil, honey and mango and the new spa inspired range they do. I scrub and moisturise properly once a week or so but in the shower not bath.

I don't like the sickly smells, strawberry, orange something. Or the way the sales assistants jump on you in the shop. I buy on line or at body shop parties.
