Naked woman in sauna

This just happened, local leisure center a young woman walked into the sauna naked. Someone else immediatly said to her "you can't be in here like that love, its not allowed". She replied I'm German, this is sauna, does this offend you?. The other woman said no, but it is the rules. The naked woman then went on about how she always does it, sauna doesn't work unless your naked and everywhere else in Europe does this.

Some young men opened the sauna door, and closed it immediately when they saw her. She laughed and said back " its OK you can come in". She clearly heard people telling her it wasn't allowed and was enjoying the attention she got.

I kind of see her point about prefering to be naked, but there are rules in place and she was obviously making other people uncomfortable.

Was I bu to tell reception on the way out?

I do agree though that rules are rules - if it says swimsuit or no swimsuit, act accordingly or don't go.

BoffinMum · 22/11/2015 22:10

Forallthesaints, I sincerely hope that wasn't Gordon Brown. Grin

ottothedog · 22/11/2015 22:19

An hour in a sauna?? I manage about 10 mins

SirChenjin · 22/11/2015 22:23

Boffin - FFS, can you keep that twisted imagination of yours to yourself please. I'm now trying unsuccessfully to brain bleach out the image of Gordon Brown with a cock draped over his thigh lounging in a sauna.

violetsarentblue · 22/11/2015 23:48

I was thinking Tony Blair. Or John Major?
I want must know

violetsarentblue · 22/11/2015 23:49

For all the saints tell us! Just use initials.

violetsarentblue · 22/11/2015 23:51

Lounging like a sleepy staccato on his thigh. Smile

violetsarentblue · 22/11/2015 23:52

That's supposed to be 'draped over his thigh like a sleepy aardvark'

BoffinMum · 23/11/2015 10:58

More like a chubby Bockwurst really. Grin

reni2 · 23/11/2015 11:09

Can you all please stop giving me vivid images of former PM's cocks parked on thighs!

Sallyingforth · 23/11/2015 12:18

Gordon Brown made a huge financial cock-up. Perhaps that was in a naked sauna?

violetsarentblue · 23/11/2015 16:20

I don't believe it. Hmm
What kind of high profile person would be stupid enough to sit naked in a public sauna?
That's just asking for ridicule.

BarryMerry · 23/11/2015 16:21

I'm guessing the former PM isn't in possession of a cock? JS?

BoffinMum · 23/11/2015 16:46

It wasn't this man, was it?

Grin

I'd forgotten about TW and his Trouser Rat.

Lostcat2 · 23/11/2015 16:49

Saunas are horrible anyway.

BoffinMum · 24/11/2015 20:52

Notice the draping. Now imagine it unrestrained by trousers. That is what I was faced with (not Tezza's, obv)

MistressoftheYoniverse · 24/11/2015 20:58

Boff Grin...

reni2 · 24/11/2015 21:13

I had forgotten Terry Wogan's beige corduroy mishap. Now I am imagining various former PMs and TW! must stop coming back to this thread for more

BoffinMum · 24/11/2015 21:25

It's the Mumsnet equivalent of yelling willy in the playground and everyone sniggering.Grin

reni2 · 24/11/2015 21:36

Just like the parking threads are somebody yelling FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT Grin

shinynewusername · 24/11/2015 21:51

In plenty of countries outside Germany and the Nordic countries, mixed saunas are in swimming costume or at least covered by a towel and only single sex saunas are naked

Yes. I have been to many saunas in Russia. Single sex ones are naked but mixed: definitely not - thank heavens as they are often tiny and shed-like so the risk accidental of contact with a draped penis would be high

viioletsarentblue · 24/11/2015 22:00

What's the fascination with saunas in these other countries anyway?
Isn't it possible to go to one of those countries and not have a sauna?

If I go to Germany or any of the nordic countries, surely there are other things to do that don't involve sitting around starkers? Hmm

Gwenhwyfar · 24/11/2015 22:14

viiolet: saunas are believed to be very good for you and are a big part of the culture in some countries. I think they're mad about it in Finland.
I used to go to a gym with a sauna and loved it for 10 mins to warm up and feel clean after sweating. I'm sure it helped my tolerance of heat as well. Unfortunately I can't afford that kind of gym any more and there's nowhere to go for a cheap sauna where I live. It would have to be a full spa day, but I'm planning to get one of those coupons one of these days.

SirChenjin · 25/11/2015 06:46

I can't say I feel better or worse after a sauna - just a bit hot.
