I am too. I love snow. I forego all work and watch it fall at the window, as a ritual.

Last time it snowed properly here at this point of the year, we were snowed in by December and didn't see the back of it until late February.

So I have slight reservations about the prospect of snow, particularly with a coat refusing DS with a long walk to school.

Actually, just remembered I've been meaning to order myself a nordic walking pole, in case of a return to 3 months of snow over winter - I'll not manage the school walk without it.

It looks like we might have enough snow to be annoying without enough to go sledging.

I reacquainted stole myself with my old fashioned wooden sledge from home that my parents were keeping for the grandkids me a few years back.

I get many envious looks when I take it and my mad labrador to the steepest hills I can find and bomb down them giggling like an overgrown child

Unfortunately, DH had to get rid of his 4x4 last year so off roading is no longer an option!

I despise the white stuff. I have to drive 25 miles to work and negotiate my way from the farm to the main road. Some people have no clue how to drive in snow and are just stupid on the roads. We had snow from early December until the beginning of March a few years ago and I don't relish a repeat of that year. Don't get me started on the the people that live a few miles from work and phone in claiming they can't get there . I've been known to go pick them up myself. It's also shocking the amount of parents who don't send their children to school when it snows.

I suspect the people who are elated at the prospect don't have to get to work in it.

I used to love snow, but I hate the distrupion it causes.

Well I've just checked the iPhone weather app (which as we all know is completely pants) and it shows a 10 degree drop in temperature over the weekend!!!!

We're due snow this weekend in Switzerland but typically we'll be away. Interestingly everything seems to just work here even with heavy snow, it does help that the concept of winter tires is firmly embedded here, I have a 90 km commute each way and never really worry if it's snowing.

your suspicions are wrong ilovesooty. I have to get to work. Only 5 miles, but it's a nightmare when it snows, or in fact in any adverse weather, and regardless of whether I go by car, bike or public transport.

Dh works 50 miles away across the pennines and rarely misses a day due to snow.

I'm quite envious of his commute when it's snowing; he gets some fabulous views and doesn't appreciate them at all. (he's not particularly a snow lover).

Dh and I shared the commute for about 25 minutes this morning (unusually) and I mentioned the possibility to him. (We were talking about the weather, and the absolute torrential rain here this morning.....). He wasn't upset at the notion (we have snowsocks for the tyres and generally manage quite well despite the city grinding to a halt, we'd rarely miss anything planned including work). But he did say we shouldn't say anything to DD as it probably won't fall this side of the Irish sea, and she loves snow so much she'd be bugging me to make sure I buy sausages and burgers for the BBQ, "just in case".

(We have a traditional BBQ on the green with all the neighbours if you can, in any way, call ourselves "snowed in" - in other words, there is more white than green on the green. We all know we're nuts but enjoy it anyway and neighbours on other streets have started to get used to joining us! ).
