UnlikelyPilgramage · 17/11/2015 06:58

Yes, yes Fatmomma

And the endless 'AIBU to let DS go out in a tutu...?'

Krampus · 17/11/2015 07:56

I take back my previous sarcastic response. No I stand by it but I will join in anyway Grin

IKnowIAmButWhatAreYou · 17/11/2015 08:09

Any AIBU where it takes longer to type the OP than it would to google the fecking answer......

pluck · 17/11/2015 08:14

I particularly hate the "Am I being unreasonable to tell you all about..." [insert product, charitable cause, etc.]

sashh · 17/11/2015 08:18

OMG the pasta one - tell me it's in classics please.

The AIBU to ask you which one you'd prefer type threads - either the poster hasn't understood the concept of AIBU or they're just posting for traffic. In many cases I suspect the former.

CorydonFrills · 17/11/2015 09:17

I like the ones where the OP is like "please no more responses now" or "I'm going to ask for the thread to be deleted" after a chorus of YABU. And then everyone's all "You don't get to decide that, we'll keep talking about it if we want to!" And the the thread goes on for 500 more pages.

SirChenjin · 17/11/2015 09:31

Or when the OP goes "OK, I'm being unreasonable, thanks for the feedback everyone" and posters keep piling in to say "you're so unreasonable, what a bitch you are". Or when when posters say "most people have said you're unreasonable, why can't you accept that" when it's been a 50-50 split.

TheSultanofPingu · 17/11/2015 09:52

I find reverse Aibu's the most ridiculous of all. Seriously, what is the point?

Gileswithachainsaw · 17/11/2015 09:56

There's a fab one running at the moment about a film and a c section. I was called needy because I'd assume the one having surgery in the morning deserved to have the full attention and support of her husband the might befire and say of surgery and a midnight showing could render a person too shattered to be a lot of use.

SirChenjin · 17/11/2015 10:23

Giles - I saw that one too and was like this Shock Confused

Who knew that the need to see Star Wars the moment it was released (only a ^true Star Wars fan would understand, natch) took precedent over someone who was facing a c-section in the morning, was pretty scared and wanted her DH/P there to hold her hand through the night (and into the next day without falling asleep). It's the World of the Strange at times on AIBU.

WorraLiberty · 17/11/2015 10:29

Too many to mention but for some reason I remember someone starting a thread, saying their 18 month old was at the top of a slide at soft play.

She looked up and saw a 5 year old, just about to kick her baby in the head on purpose.

Her question was, "AIBU to have shouted "NO!"?

Yes love, very unreasonable. You should have stood by and watched him kick the shit out of your baby. Isn't that what we'd all do? Confused

Verity23 · 17/11/2015 10:35

Giles, you were making up ridiculous scenarios on that thread that were very unlikely to happen. Lots of people are perfectly capable of functioning on little sleep and I'm sure he would not be going if he knew he couldn't handle it.

SirChenjin · 17/11/2015 10:38

Even if he could handle very little sleep on the day of a c-section his partner wanted him there the night before hand though. That should have been enough for him to put Star Wars to one side - but apparently, seeing the film at another time just wasn't the same Hmm

Gileswithachainsaw · 17/11/2015 10:39

They weren't ridiculous I'd posted about stuff I've experienced personally. taxis not showing, dirty taxis, maniac drivers, staff being less than attentive at hospital (nearly ended up in theatre myself due to being ignored. as far as hospitals go is equally ridiculous to assume all will go to plan and you will be in and out on times stated.

Gileswithachainsaw · 17/11/2015 10:40

and she even said she had her doubts but her mum.was there. and it made him happy. again it was clearly not what she wanted and she was relying on her mum fir something her husband should be doing.

PaulAnkaTheDog · 17/11/2015 11:15

Grin the pasta thread! Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. I wonder how the orb and is now. Probably chowing down McDonald's and dry pasta daily.

ZoeTurtle · 17/11/2015 11:35

I hate the ones that aren't really AIBUs.

As pluck says "I particularly hate the "Am I being unreasonable to tell you all about..." [insert product, charitable cause, etc.]."

Or the ones where the first line is "I know this isn't an AIBU but posting for traffic..." wish MNHQ would move them to chat.

justmyview · 17/11/2015 11:55

There's one at the moment "AIBU to ask how much washing you do?"

Firstly - who cares?

Secondly - why is it in AIBU?

SirChenjin · 17/11/2015 12:42

I saw that one and thought exactly the same Just Grin

I was tempting to post "yes" and nothing else, but 1.cba and 2.thought I'd probably get a "ooh, a smartarse"

ZoeTurtle · 17/11/2015 12:49

"AIBU to ask how much washing you do?" is exactly the kind of thing that should be moved to chat.

or deleted altogether because how bloody boring

SilverOldie2 · 17/11/2015 13:40

The ones I don't understand are those asking for advice on really stupid things like: 'my DH fell off the roof of our house, he is unconscious and blood is dribbling from his mouth, WIBU to call an ambulance'? (slight exaggeration but there are so many asking if a situation needs a doctor or A&E visit, surely you would know!).

Others like 'my DB has decided to go out to the pub with his mates on my birthday, WIBU to feel upset'? Well don't tell us tell him!

Oh yes, how much washing/do you use a loo brush/ how often do you wash sheets, towels etc/ how much is your weekly shop/ WIBU to knock an old lady to the floor cos she dared touch my baby's cheek etc ad infinitum ad nauseum.
