To not let ds go on THIS school trip to...

...Toysrus...
Their theme is toys this term and have just had letter back saying this will be educational and enjoyable and they may take five quid spending money.

  1. I fail to see how this is educational
  2. It is commercial
  3. We are broke and my life is spent managing dc's expectations down and I specifically avoid toy shops esp. At this time of year.

It is not about the five quid spending money.. It is about letting ds go round a shop full of things he won't get for Christmas. We pass this shop every week and I never let the kids go in for that reason.

I will send the headteacher the link to this thread saying not only I am not being unreasonable but the planned trip is so bizarre people think I am making it up

Of course you can't be forced to send your dc on the trip. There is always someone in the school to look after those who choose not to participate.

PaulAnkaTheDog · 14/11/2015 01:35

Pinot the Tesco trips are very big as cheap and educational class trips. They are taught about how food is made, what is healthy and get to try different healthy foods. Doesn't cost the school a penny.

So instead of being so utterly distainful (not the first time I've seen that attitude on you) perhaps realise that maybe your not always correct and you don't always know what's best. Googling doesn't make you knowledgeable.

I had my doubts at the beginning of this thread but you need to just wheesht!

I saw the other school trip thread and went on it hoping that another parent was having the same issue but it turned out to be about a mosque

OP posts:
pinotblush · 14/11/2015 01:36

send

alltheworld · 14/11/2015 01:38

I don't want to name the school even in a pm as I can see from everyone's reactions that in the wrong hands this could be newsworthy

IT is a fair point Maryz but I think the school will need to shoulder that burden.

Literally only noticed pinot the past few days but my goodness she behaves like a know-it-all irritant. Just be quiet! Why can you declare this trip is bogus by googling?! Bloody absurd! Get your knickers un-twisted, sit down and behave like an adult, instead of a teenager who enjoys trying to embarrass people.

You could refuse to sign the permission note, your child will still go to school.

I think your child will be very unhappy that he sees all the rest of his year group going and he is left behind.
