What an offensive OP.. One of my best friends was a refugee from Kosovo. She is now a social worker and her brother a surgeon. They have 2 children and have adopted another 2. I think you'll find that they have contributed more to the UK than you have OP.

Sorry, she has 2 children and her brother has adopted 2 with his wife.

Biggest warmonger was Blair (by a huge margin).

Corbyn is different, but I agree OP, and think Labour has a huge way to go before anyone thinks of voting for them.

If these people are fleeing war then why re they trying to get into Europe?
If war broke out in England, you'd flee to the nearest safe place like Scotland. You wouldn't then get in a boat to go from one safe place to another safe place?

So they flee their Syrian wrone and instead of getting sfe they continue for hundreds of miles through safe countries to get to a safe country?

Actually the best way to stop migrants moving here would be to reverse globalisation and make sure al those other countries had no access to international communications, social media, money, modes of transport...oh wait, you can't do that. Because it's impossible. And it sounds better to just blame it all on 'the government'.

The migrant situation is first and foremost a product of globalisation. If you don't know life could be better or don't have the means to try and reach somewhere safer, you won't try. But if you're seeing pictures on TV or social media of wealthy, peaceful, non-repressive countries and have enough money to attempt the journey, and modern transport makes it faster, why wouldn't you try?

Pointing the finger at 'the government' is sixth-form politics and bears little relation to what's actually happening.

Have you misread the OP?

I have no idea why you would find it offensive?

I am saying refugees are fleeing war (among other things) and that our government's war mongering policies - bombing and selling arms - have contributed to those wars e.g. Iraq, Afghanistan.

I have made no comment about indivuduals contributing to society here, and I am well aware that - despite what the press would have you believe - most migrants contribute to the societies they settle in.
