I hate them at the best of times, think they should only be for licensed events not back gardens, but they've been going off all evening and I'm about ready to explode! It's Remembrance Sunday FFS there could not be a worse time to do it!!

YANBU. Always when I'm trying to settle the kids in bed too. Like it isn't dark enough at about 5pm to do them Angry

MrsHathaway · 08/11/2015 19:30

It's also the closest weekend to Diwali. I absolutely understand your objections but I doubt it's on purpose to denigrate the sacrifice.

TheoriginalLEM · 08/11/2015 19:30

Totally agree, so disrespectful.

Chapsie · 08/11/2015 19:30

Furious. YABU, it's not even late.

Jelliebabe1 · 08/11/2015 19:32

Oh my. There are bigger worries to be furious about....

DartmoorDoughnut · 08/11/2015 19:32

Chapsie it isn't the bastard time of day it's the day itself, how many current/ex forces have ptsd? It must be hell for them. Just bloody rude on today of all days.

Poor dog is having yet another nervous breakdown. Sad

Hate, hate the trend of letting them off night after night.

ComeInBaldrick · 08/11/2015 19:37

YANBU. My poor cat is terrified :(

Bubbletree4 · 08/11/2015 19:39

I think that perhaps people had stuff to do last night so are letting off their fireworks off tonight. They haven't done it to be disrespectful.

Personally, dd had a bday party to go to last night so if I was the kind of person who does back garden fireworks, perhaps I would have thought, oh dd out last night, lets do them the next night?

I am sure disrespect isn't intentional.

notenoughbottle · 08/11/2015 19:40

We're left with a box full of fireworks which we've not been able to let off due to the bad weather so my 3dc still haven't had a fireworks night. Any other night ok but Rememberence Sunday? Shameful...

Ridingthegravytrain · 08/11/2015 19:45

They were 50% off in the shops today. Started going off at 6.30. Definitely should be regulated. Bah humbug (terrified dog and child for days!)

DianefromDorset · 08/11/2015 19:45

Agree with OP. Fireworks have been going off since Hallow'een - and tonight of all nights is totally disrespectful, not to mention the awful effect the noise has on animals and people.

ghostyslovesheep · 08/11/2015 19:46

YABU and a bit silly - sorry

Littleallovertheshop · 08/11/2015 19:47

There's nothing disrespectful about letting off fireworks on Remembrance Sunday. At all.

Stingslikeabee · 08/11/2015 19:47

YANBU. I let the cat out thinking its Remembrance Sunday so no fireworks tonight. How wrong was I. Poor mites probably hiding under a bush somewhere terrified Sad

Crankycunt · 08/11/2015 19:48

It's been going on here on and off since 6. YANBU. It's irritating now.

To be furious at fireworks tonight?
itsthecircleoflife · 08/11/2015 19:51

Nope, YANBU. Its pissing me right off now too. There have been two weekend nights when people could of had their bonfire parties now, i seriously wish people would piss of and put the fireworks away now.

NicoleWatterson · 08/11/2015 19:53

I went to an organised display tonight, a lot of it was red white and blue. It was done to the dam busters and other songs related to ww2.

I do think home fireworks should be banned, but I don't think there's anything wrong with fireworks tonight.

Outfoxed · 08/11/2015 19:55

My cat has somehow got himself under the sofa to hide and won't come out. I'm SO over pissing fireworks.

HemanOrSheRa · 08/11/2015 19:56

Our NDN has been letting off display grade fireworks in his back garden Angry. He does this every single bloody year. The dog was pootling around in the kitchen when he started. She was so scared she pissed on the floor. I'm thinking of posting the dog piss soaked kitchen roll through his letterbox. DP is being the calm voice of reason.

Littleallovertheshop · 08/11/2015 19:56

Ps. I do, however, agree home fireworks should be phased out due to issues with noise, emergency services and general danger.

TamzinGrey · 08/11/2015 20:02

For some bizarre reason our village primary school has decided to have their annual firework party tonight. Not only is it disrespectful on Remembrance Sunday, but it's a school day tomorrow fgs.

AngelSparks · 08/11/2015 20:02

Home displays should be banned - leave it to the professionals!!

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 08/11/2015 20:07

although I have a terrified dog who's put the anchors on every night for the last week when I've tried to take him out, I reckon live and let live

(I have to-I live in London where as a rule of thumb they go off from about halloween to new year- if I got upset by it I'dve gone bananas many, many years ago)

DartmoorDoughnut · 08/11/2015 20:08

Love that meme cranky

My DH is forces and is really pissed off. Our dogs have kongs and thundershirts on and are still barking
