AIBU to be pissed off when I read this sort of post on fb?

I can't be the only one who wants to post "fuck off" when I read one Grin.

It's this sort of thing:

Type Amen if you want God to be there for you. Ignore if not.

Others include "type Amen if you want this person healed. Ignore if not."

Always with a heart-rending photo attached.

Gives me the rage. It is always the same person who posts this type of thing along with other passive aggressive "I can't help being the way I am" type posts. I could delete her but apart from this blind spot she's ok.

I just ditched it for this reason

SparklyTinselTits · 05/11/2015 07:37

YANBU...
My Dsis is in a relationship with a really shit bloke, I get phone calls at least twice a week with her whinging about another arguement they've had. But she's always sharing posts about "soul mates" and perfect relationships Hmm if she wasn't my sister I would be I unfriending Angry

paulapompom · 05/11/2015 07:42

Oooh very p.a. "share if you are a nice person but ignore if you are a cold hearted selfish bitch". Another reason to not enjoy fb

stopfaffing · 05/11/2015 07:45

Recently a former colleague posted a video of a "prank" which involved a dead body lying in a pool of blood in a supermarket isle. It recorded people's reactions when they came into a deserted supermarket, saw this and were confronted by deranged knife wielding nightmare clowns who chased them. This was apparently "funny".

Normally I would ignore but I did actually post a reply where I said it was horrible and reminded me of the school in Norway where a man dressed at a character from Halloween entered the school and murdered a teacher a pupil and stabbed other pupils (less than a week earlier).

I noticed no other comments or likes were received. I was actually surprised that this particular person posted such an offensive thing.

They piss me off. Load of attention seeking bollocks. I always comment that point plus educate the sharer that they are sharing a picture - usually of a child - without permission and how would that make them feel? Usually gets taken down.

Collaborate · 05/11/2015 08:03

You could always post a third option: Hide future posts if you're fed up of this tiresome God-bothering claptrap.

Saw this the other day.....

Not convinced by your bird there.

Manipulative emotional blackmail - yes.

Anything that uses the word "sheeple" - best to ignore.

LittleLionMansMummy · 05/11/2015 10:01

I've seen loads of these - pics of very poorly children undergoing chemo with text saying 'type amen if you think (s)he's beautiful' and 'type amen and you care, don't scroll past' etc. Yanbu op, it gives me the rage too. And I often find that the so-called Christians who post this shit are the same ones sharing Britain First posts, anti-Islam posts and posts stating 'fuck off we're full' alongside a photo of the white cliffs of Dover. I've begun challenging the racist stuff, hiding the god bothering rubbish and blocking the people who consistently do all of this.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 05/11/2015 10:34

People do this to get loads of likes for a page then sell it on to advertise dubious things. I wish there was more awareness of this.

Like Farming

Personally I think that when you sign up for Facebook you should be made to read this stuff and sign at the bottom with the blood of your firstborn. Grin

SinisterBumFacedCat · 05/11/2015 10:54

"99% of people won't have the guts to share this"

No, 99% of people think you're a twat.

hairbrushbedhair · 05/11/2015 10:56

YANBU

verystressedmum · 05/11/2015 10:57

I hate all this stuff and I can't help think that the people who do actually share it are idiots. I'd love to deactivate my account but I'm too bloody nosy!!!

Notgrumpyjustquiet · 05/11/2015 11:04

Yep. It gets right on my tits. How the fuck is a child's life going to be saved by me clicking the like button. Fucking idiots.

I was in a good mood before because I'd made a unilateral decision to accidentally order a tumble dryer but I'm ruddy pissed off now Hmm

ExitPursuedByABear · 05/11/2015 11:07

We had a fab MN thread about this a few years ago and made up lots of fabulous stupid posts. MNHQ put them together and we posted them on fb to see if anyone would share.

They were very funny.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 05/11/2015 11:09

right click and unfollow them

I follow so few people now my Facebook is a desert just a few witty ex boyfriends

SistersOfPercy · 05/11/2015 11:09

I'm amazed at the amount of fucktards that seem to think the NHS works on likes.

Like to cure this girl of cancer. Well who knew!? Stop the research, Facebook has solved it.

Cocks.

rambunctious · 05/11/2015 11:12

YANBU. They are horrible posts. Ditto the 'share if you love your children' ones.

On a kind of similar theme, a post turned up on my thread the other day with a cartoon image of Mohammed flying through the air, having apparently been booted. The caption was something like, 'It's kick a muslim day.' I reported it but apparently it doesn't contravene any posting rules Hmm

CocktailQueen · 05/11/2015 11:13

Yeah, because typing 'amen' or whatever else will really help to save the person's life, because God checks Facebook Hmm

What a load of shit. I'd be de-friending her.

LittleLionMansMummy · 05/11/2015 11:15

The thing is, I had no idea I was such a bad judge of character and thought I'd entered into friendships with people who held similar values and at the very least weren't dumb enough to spread this rubbish around t'interweb. I mean, wtf happened?! Confused

LittleMissAIBU · 05/11/2015 11:19

I saw one with a child with Down's syndrome the other day saying like and share if you think they are cute.

Yes I think they are cute, but I don't need to like a post to show it, I think children that age are cute anyway.

I can see what they are trying to do, but it's almost like by doing it you are saying they are different, if that makes sense, and pointing it out to the child even more?
