Annoyed my 13 yr DD allowed to watch 18+ movies at friend's

My DD went to a Halloween party at her school friend's and I've found out they all watched Insidious ... I am upset about it. I would never allow my child to watch an 18+ horror movie (or play an 18+ violent video game).

I wouldn't expose someone's else's child to psychological horror, death and violence without definite permission from their parent... I feel upset about it.
Angry

I've looked after my daughter carefully with regards to content in books and films, as I was sadly exposed to adult themes far too young

P.S. DH and I have watched the film ourselves and it is disturbing on many levels.

I think it depends on the child in question. I watched Scream aged 9 at a friend's 10th birthday sleepover (Halloween theme as her birthday was Halloween) as her older brother had been allowed to rent films for us to watch. It had no lasting effect on me, I love horror films and find them (particularly things like Saw) funny. However another friend at the same party had nightmares for weeks. If there is no harm done, I would chalk it up to experience.

The world- people are different i was watching horrors and other 15 and 18's as a child and teenager.( though one film did have few bits edited for teenage me that my dad didn't think was suitable)
No lasting effect on me.
Horror is my favourite genre of film!
I know it's fake.
I love the anticipation and suspense in a horror!
Real things have a lasting effect on me, wars, robberies actual murders etc
Everyone seems to go on about nightmare on elm street.
I was bored out of my skull!
Give me halloween or scream anyday!
I have vivid memories of my parents and i watching halloween or friday the 13th on a weekend.
Me hiding in my dads shoulder at the scary parts, but loving it!(still do that now but with dp Grin )
At weekends with my aunt or grandad watching old classics or a quentin tarantino film.
Still love reservoir dogs and from dusk till dawn. Def my fave george clooney film!
