I watch The Walking Dead religiously. People complain about certain things that happen as being unrealistic ... erm so you're fully prepared to watch a show about zombies and accept thats ok?

I remember the amounts of complaints regarding Broadchurch.

It's tv, it's not real life. Its all done for entertainment.

I don't mind the fictional TV shows its the so called reality TV that winds me up.
Look everyone knows you record strictly all in one night just stop the stupid pretence.
Apprentice - no one uses yellow pages anymore - just let the 'candidates' use Google ffs and really its not about being an apprentice anymore its all about investment so shouldn't it start with an analysis of their business plans before getting to the final stages and then throwing it out.

DH and DS had a long conversation about the physics behind how the wooden wall should have been built on WD Grin

Cripes, DP went on for some time about that bloody wall... Talk about over-invested.

Should we get them together so they can discuss it.

Lol

YABVU. TV series and films annoy the fuck out of me when then they aren't consistent, realistic or believable. I can suspend my disbelief for a major plot point - like vampires/zombies/aliens/whatever existing, but then the rest of the plot needs to make sense, and the characters have to behave in a way that makes sense for that character. Otherwise I just get jolted out of my suspension of disbelief and it's jarring and annoying. Broadchurch 2 was just absurd, it was so far removed from reality - it makes watching it and investing in the characters a waste of time.

But in TWD the zombies are zombies because their brain has been taken over by a virus, which is what prevents the body decaying.

I think they've dropped the pretence on Strictly in that they don't go out of their way to make it sound like it's really Sunday ...but it still seems ridiculous that Darcy, Tess and Claudia change their clothes.

FretYeNotAllIsShiny · 30/10/2015 15:35

Crabby has got it exactly right, it's not the big things that are annoying, it's the little details. Zombies don't exist, and we get that but it's when they have small unrealistic details that jar you. Like the last episode of TWD, when a character fell forward off a dumpster yet managed to land with his head closest to it. How does that happen? FFs.

Why do characters on TV never need to go to the toilet?

I'm also puzzled about all the people marching importantly about carrying clipboards on Holby/Casualty. What are they doing? Why are there so many of them? Are they film crew who got into shot by mistake?
