I watch The Walking Dead religiously. People complain about certain things that happen as being unrealistic ... erm so you're fully prepared to watch a show about zombies and accept thats ok?

I remember the amounts of complaints regarding Broadchurch.

It's tv, it's not real life. Its all done for entertainment.

Does anyone remember 80s Casualty and how utterly incorrect everything they did was?

The writers had done no medical research whatsoever.

Someone would be rushed in with a gunshot wound to the leg and Duffy would be shouting, "I need a triangular bandage and some jam!"

Why, Duffy? Will jam really help??

MrsJayy · 29/10/2015 22:00

How he is 12 Shock eee i remember back in the day teen parents were 16 Grin

MrsJayy · 29/10/2015 22:02

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 29/10/2015 22:05

How do I know what??

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 29/10/2015 22:06

Oh, the rigamortis.

I just do. Read it somewhere.

I do occasionally deal with a body so have read up on these things.

I can't remember the time scales though.

I'll look it up.

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 29/10/2015 22:24

Just of some bluish feet. Nothing grim.

BigOCupOfTea · 29/10/2015 22:38

The walkers (zombies) are starting to decay though.

You can definitely tell the difference between an old one and a fresh one haha.

Dd told me some grim dead stories when she was doing her police training lots of reference to soup

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 30/10/2015 00:09

Joffery I am impressed that you know that. I never know stuff like that.

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 30/10/2015 08:43

Ah, thanks.

My brain does retain some rather fabulous information. It's like a sponge.

Although sadly doesn't retain anything practical like how to cook or drive.

And I do care for the occasional body at work so it makes sense to research these things...

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 30/10/2015 09:42

Oh I love a good whine about the unrealistic bits in TWD? Grin

I love the perfect eyebrows Wink

MrsJayy · 30/10/2015 09:52

I lovehow they wake up fresh faced no bed head and just glide out of bed i look like a swamp monster every morning

BurtMacklinsWife · 30/10/2015 10:00

My complaint about TWD was why do none of the women have roots - the blondes in particular, can't all have been natural Grin They also managed to maintain personal grooming throughout, not a hairy leg or armpit in sight!

x2boys · 30/10/2015 10:02

oh i agree Annwfyn i,m an RMN they always do mental health very badly and potray mental health wards nothing like they are in real life.

It entirely depends on which aspect of the show. Of course, reanimated corpses is going to require some suspension of disbelief. However, the bits we can understand and relate to the real world need to have some basis in reality. E.g. if someone is firing a normal pistol 30 or 40 times without reloading, it's going to look odd - this is why there are continuity supervisors.

A big one would be around the characters - if Merle and Michonne were having a big to do and it reached a point where Michonne was disarmed and injured, then they get flooded with walkers, Merle would not then try to save Michonne - it would be so out of character and unrealistic; he would leave her and save himself. That's a rather obvious example, but we can sense personality types from our interactions in real life. Any major change or discrepancy in a character's personality needs to be explained (e.g. Glenn seriously toughening up as his character develops).

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 30/10/2015 10:53

I think the women having no leg or armpit hair is more to do with societies horror of female body hair.

Even on razor adverts women are shaving an already hair free leg.

MrsJayy · 30/10/2015 11:02

Urgh Veet adverts its like the are waxing with a tissue show us the gorrila legs its fine we can cope
