The 12A seriously pisses me off it seems a cop out

SistersOfPercy · 19/10/2015 20:00

Booked Grin
Have threatened to go in full stormtrooper costume though wouldn't actually be able to sit down so perhaps best not haha

OddBoots · 19/10/2015 20:00

Tickets booked, not for the premier but in the week before Christmas instead of a panto now the children are bigger. :)

MrsJayy · 19/10/2015 20:02

Of course you should go as a stormtrooper why wouldnt you Grin

MaidOfStars · 19/10/2015 20:20

Argh, the Odeon website is not playing ball.

Husband can't be tempted to the 00:01 showing....

MrsTerryPratchett · 19/10/2015 20:24

As that rare specimen (a film nerd who doesn't like Star Wars) Are you Mark Kermode, Satan?

MaidOfStars · 19/10/2015 20:27

We're booked! 2D here - 'it's a film, not a fucking fairground', apparently Grin

RickRoll · 19/10/2015 20:36

AIBU to mention that I worked on it, briefly?

DingbatsFur · 19/10/2015 20:38

Wow booked! Thanks!

OddBoots · 19/10/2015 20:43

Ooh, what did you do RickRoll?

balletgirlmum · 19/10/2015 20:46

Dd finishes school for Xmas on 17th. Post Carol concert cinema trip for her & Ds I think!

Those of you booking the midnight showings just be aware (;at Vue at least) that it's no under 18s for midnight showings.

KatharineClifton · 19/10/2015 20:50

Ooh RickRoll is it really a musical and it's all a big secret? Spill!

it's no under 18s for midnight showings.

I've been taking my DC for a couple of years to these midnight showings. Never been asked ID and they let me buy child tickets. This is Cineworld though.

WiIdfire · 19/10/2015 20:59

Thanks! Booked 2 even though I havent asked anyone if they want to go with me yet! Last 2 good seats left :-)

balletgirlmum · 19/10/2015 21:00

We don't have a cineworld nearby & it does look from their website there are no restrictions.

It must be a Vue thing.

Hygge · 19/10/2015 21:02

Thanks for the rating info.

I googled and I'm sure it said PG.

Does 12A mean you have to be 12 and with an adult?

DS is 6 and will be fed up if we can't see it in the cinema.

twoboystwogirls · 19/10/2015 21:03

I can't wait to see this. The first film I ever saw at the cinema was the original Star Wars at the grand age of four. Very excited to see the old gang back together along with some really promising new actors

balletgirlmum · 19/10/2015 21:03

12A means if you are under 12 you have to be accompanied by an adult.

TrionicLettuce · 19/10/2015 21:04

12A means under 12s are only permitted when they're accompanied by an adult.

Thanks, that helps then.

Our local Vue is advertising the film to book now but has TBC where the rating should be.

I'm tempted to book but I don't want to if DS won't get in after all.

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 19/10/2015 21:13

Booked ours this afternoon for a few days before Christmas. DS is too old to visit Santa now so it's our pre-Xmas treat. I'm hoping one of the TV channels will show all the previous films soon, so we can watch them all again first.

AlpacaPicnic · 19/10/2015 21:14

DH came home skipping with smuggity smugness that he and his bestie friend have got VIP midnight screening seats. Another, less good, friend who is also a fan hasn't mentioned booking and is apparently 'dithering' so they are going without him.

It's all got a little bit playground in our house just relieved that I don't have to go to midnight screening where chance of staying awake is exactly nil

MsJuniper · 19/10/2015 21:14

Don't forget your lovely local independent cinemas who are showing it - much less busy websites too :)

I will definitely be watching it in 2D. Love the new poster released yesterday. I have got a really good feeling about this one, it may never live up to the originals but it sounds like it will be much more in their spirit. Fingers crossed!

SistersOfPercy · 19/10/2015 21:19

The other downside mrsjay is that when wearing the helmet the lenses are green. Ergo everything is just slightly different shades of green. I suspect green force awakens would not be as good Confused
