What a stunner for her age. No signs of any plastic surgery. She's one of the few models that's aged well. That's allSmile

I just can never forgive her for her dreadful dreadful dreadful acting on Friends!

squoosh · 15/10/2015 23:42

Yes to Christy Turlington, she looks gorgeous! She always had that serenely beautiful thing going on. Still does.

milinkle · 15/10/2015 23:44

I've heard she's not pleasant.

I remember somebody, a young girl, telling her how beautiful she looked and she said not "Oh, thank you. How kind of you to say so" or something along those lines, but instead just drawled "It's my job."

MadHattersWineParty · 15/10/2015 23:44

Well.... honeyroar my ex used to work for a company in central London that had a lot of dealings with her and she was, I'm sorry to say, a total diva and totally charmless at all times.

I've always thought Helena Christensan is very beautiful.

EachandEveryone · 15/10/2015 23:48

Christmas Turlington was my favourite. I don't think any of the original super models have had much work done. I agree the youngsters these days aren't a patch on them. Half of them are only models because of family connections.

Jeffreythegiraffe · 15/10/2015 23:54

She's against vaccinating, so that make a me dislike her a bit.

Jeffreythegiraffe · 15/10/2015 23:55

Makes me, even. That reads as if I've put on a bad Italian accent.

hackedoffnow · 15/10/2015 23:57

Then there's Linda Evangelista. They were incredibly strong, striking models.
.

squoosh · 15/10/2015 23:58

These days it's all 14 year old Lithuanians.

lovelychops · 16/10/2015 00:01

Grin at Jeffrey's bad accent !

I think Naomi Campbell is just incredibly stunning - but it's well documented how difficult she is. Helena Christensen was always my favourite. Agree there don't seem to be any stand out super models of the new generation.

squoosh · 16/10/2015 00:04

I supermodels became less of a thing as actresses started getting the beauty and fashion contracts. Most glossies these days have a celeb on the cover instead of a model.

maggieryan · 16/10/2015 00:06

Honey roar you're probably right. She's just beautiful looking!? Personailty I wouldnt for a minute think shes anyway genuine! For those who want to jump on me and make it more than it should be..yes I think FOR HER AGE..if she was 30 or even 40.I'd think yeah shes beautiful but looks her age but for 50 wow!! What rule did I break?

Tbh I think Jerry Hall still looks fantastic and I guess her and Iman were the original super models. Jerry doesn't look like she's had much done at all.

MuttonDressedAsGoose · 16/10/2015 08:15

I think the 90s were the high point of supermodels. Now entertainers get the contracts and covers.

Cerseirys · 16/10/2015 08:23

YY to Jerry Hall. And Iman! She must be in her sixties now but barely looks any different to her 80s heyday! Perhaps being married to a man who looks part-vampire keeps her young?

RhodaBull · 16/10/2015 08:27

I remember somebody, a young girl, telling her how beautiful she looked and she said not "Oh, thank you. How kind of you to say so" or something along those lines, but instead just drawled "It's my job."

I don't see what's wrong with this. She was saying that she has to make a huge effort to look good as it's a job. I couldn't be bothered - unless I was being paid for it - to spend hours in the gym, eat dry lettuce and drink only water.

Muckogy · 16/10/2015 08:39

she was lovely when she was younger but since then-

she's had breast implants since her final pregnancy and a lot of botox.
her hair is too long for her age and drags her face.
her chest and arms are mottled with sun damage.

the photos you see of her are very heavily photo-shopped.

scarlets · 16/10/2015 09:13

My favourite 1990s super was Karen Mulder. She ended up with mental health problems, sadly.

Muckogy · 16/10/2015 09:18

yeah - Karen Mulder was fab. i think she was sexually abused by some sex ring or something. and she had a nose job that she DID NOT need and which ruined her face. very sad.
i loved christy turlington in the 90s.
also thought gisele bundchen was amazing when she broke through around 1999-2000.

BalloonSlayer · 16/10/2015 09:23

I read an interview with Elle McPherson recently and it was going on about her house the interior design shots. It mentioned that there was one of her famous nude (or nearly nude) hung on the wall of her teenage son's bedroom.

I reckon that probably says it all about her really.

BalloonSlayer · 16/10/2015 09:26

Sorry the word "shots" seemed to get into the wrong sentence! Blush Hopefully you get the gist!

Crazypetlady · 16/10/2015 09:40

I have always been a kate moss fan not many agree with me. Naomi Campbell is gorgeousa bit of a hassle though it seems same with elle.

I do really like cara delevingne at the minute she has personality.

OreosOreosOreos · 16/10/2015 09:57

I saw Kate Moss recently and was surprised by how good she looked close up - I didn't expect it after all her years of hard partying!

Dieu · 16/10/2015 10:10

Iman, Yasmin and Christy ... all so beautiful. I remember reading an interview with Cindy Crawford back in the day. She was in a department store and the cosmetics lady said to her: you know honey, you could look a bit like that Cindy Crawford, if you just put a bit of make-up on! She found it very funny apparently, so I reckon she'd be alright.

milinkle · 16/10/2015 12:44

I don't see what's wrong with this.

Rhodabull. Much reading between the lines there. Well, I actually heard it, you see, and it didn't come across well.
