1.30 am and both my children (5yrs and 18m) are awake again! I'm sick to death of this. Why don't they sleep through?? They both want me but my OH works nights so I'm trying to split myself between them buts it's fucking impossible. Fed. Up.

I have a theory: the more intractable a problem, the more books are published. A quick glance at the sleep department in any branch of Waterstones, and you know nobody is that sure what the answer is, or there wouldn't be so many people printing variations.

Luck, and time. And meanwhile, Flowers and Brew and Gin.

I would try lessening nap time during day to one hour for your 18 month old and try giving them a nice big tea to fill them up? Mine wouldn't sleep but I changed routines and they have a nice warm bath with lavender calming baby bubble bath (think I got from asda) and bottle milk then bed, they'll sleep till 6 or 7 now which is lovely for me! Also don't be under the same misconception as me- I thought putting them to bed late when they're really tired would work but it makes them worse x but I do try during the day to get plenty of air and exercise for them either in the back garden or the park? Really feel for u I hated all the sleep deprivation x

Hi. I read this a while back. Don't know if it works as thankfully never needed it. But might be worth a try www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2555208/Bananas-pyjamas-Boy-3-cured-insomnia-eating-just-half-piece-fruit-bed-night.html
