Here for traffic. Can I ask, if you love your job, what do you do (role/industry/company even!)? I don't know a lot of people who like their jobs so would love to hear of some people that do! What is it about your job that you like?

Psychotherapist

I love my work money is not great can be stressful and difficult at times but seeing a client progress is very rewarding and people are fascinating

I love my job! I'm a private tutor. I love teaching, really enjoy spending time with the kids I work with and I work under 20 hours per week so I have lots of spare time for my other interests. Exams and parents can be stressful but it beats any other job I've had hands down.

Teacher. MFL in a secondary boys' school. I think that I'm possibly one of the five people in England and Wales still to actually love the job.

Emilyjane101 · 13/10/2015 21:50

Secondary teacher, love it.

manicinsomniac · 13/10/2015 21:55

Teacher (Performing Arts and a bit of English). Absolutely love it. Can't believe I get paid to have so much fun sometimes. I direct around 20 productions a year and get to teach loads of extra curricular dance, drama and singing too so the kids that do that are all so keen and loads of them are really talented - I get the chill factor on a regular basis. Amazing. And I obviously get loads of holiday too.

CalliopeTorres · 13/10/2015 22:02

Midwife. I utterly love midwifing and being with woman and advocating and calming and catching babies is my absolute most favourite thing to do ever. Unfortunately it isn't all sunshine and flowers as there are many aspects of my job that drive me to distraction (understaffed, underpaid, government meddling etc). If I was just left to do the job I signed up to do I'd be happy as a pig in muck!

m0therofdragons · 13/10/2015 22:06

I work in communications. No two days are ever the same and I love the team and enthusiasm in my organisation.

notmaryberry · 13/10/2015 22:07

I work for the National Trust and I love it. My team and boss are great and I get to work somewhere beautiful every day.

Desmoulinsonatable · 13/10/2015 22:08

wherehavealltheflowersgone · 13/10/2015 22:10

English teacher at a secondary mixed comp. Love it, such a buzz working with teenagers and seeing them grow to love books.
Never want to do anything else.

steppemum · 13/10/2015 22:10

I am a teacher by training.
I taught in UK, then taught overseas.
Then was overseas with a charity (not teaching)

Now I work with same charity as their kids and family worker. We have many families who go and work overseas for long periods and it is my job to help them as they go, to prepare and to plan. To support them while there (many have to home ed as in remote places)
Then help the kids adjust back to the UK when they return.

Brilliant job and i love it.

Lauren83 · 13/10/2015 22:11

Retail manager for 2 American brands been at this job 8 years and love it but in the middle of changing hopefully to a clinic based roll in a private IVF clinic (had 4 cycles myself so far and do volunteer work on a a fertility site)

CharleyDavidson · 13/10/2015 22:12

Primary teacher. Love it. Wouldn't do anything else - can't think of anything else I'd like to do.

Even on days where the children have been challenging, the HT throws more work your way and the govt introduce more initiatives, it's still a buzz when you hear a child say that they've learnt something new or see the look on their face.

fakenamefornow · 13/10/2015 22:15

Health and Safety officer for the careers service. The fact I love the job (almost) makes up for the low pay.

Finallyonboard · 13/10/2015 22:16

This is very funny! I'm in the same line of work as lots of the others that have answered! Interestingly, I was a teacher first so I did the opposite of RoseWithoutAThorn.

CharleyDavidson · 13/10/2015 22:16

Ending the day with 120 books to mark and the next day to prepare - once you've attended staff meeting.... that's less of a buzz. :)

Princessgenie · 13/10/2015 22:17

HR. And I love it. Challenging, hard work, stressful, sometimes upsetting but always varied and always interesting.

I'm a litigation law clerk in a law firm and I adore my job. I love going to work every day and wouldn't change careers for anything.

mileend2bermondsey · 13/10/2015 22:23

I'm a Head Waiter. I adore hospitality and love my job. I get to meet new people every day and come across all kinds of interesting sorts. I love that its so fast paced and the sense of team work and synchronicity with my colleagues without even speaking is lovely (dont think I explained that well). The feeling when you create an amazing experience for a guest or introduce them to a new whisky or wine which they go on to become passionate about is brill. Being a waiter (in a nice place anyway) is a mix of being an excellent host and salesperson. It suits me down to the ground. The money can also be very, very good (again depending on the place).

I am also a published writer and one day hope to write and direct my own film. I have had the chance to meet so many A-list directors, producers and actors through my work that have actually given me the time of day and advice, and some who have even kept in contact with me. My job has been invaluable in helping me work towards my dream.

Kayakinggirl86 · 13/10/2015 22:43

Middle school teacher.
Love watching and being a part of the pupils development from when they enter the school at 7 year old and leave us at 13/14.
Love helping the little ones learn key skills to having heated debates will the older ones. Love developing their subject knowledge, and watching their passion for my subject grow. Don't love marking 517 books a week and 158 pieces of home work a week. Or data.
