I am being unreasonable. Are you?

So I have this hand soap. It is not expensive, but it is lovely. Almond and hibiscus. It makes my hands feel so nice. I like to wash them with it before I go out, because when I do, I forget that my hair looks like Medusa on a bad day and my weirdly belated post-pregnancy pot belly is showing. I feel like She of the Softer Than Fairy Liquid Hands. I feel like I could play tennis in a period advert.

Yesterday my MIL 'helpfully' filled my half full bottle of magic hand soap with FUCKING TAP WATER so that it would last longer.

It now has the consistency of curdled milk and my hands no longer feel soft and lovely. I am Medusa with a pot belly and there will be no tennis playing for me.

I know I'm being unreasonable, and she was only trying to help. She is lovely. But she has to die, right?

Anyone else have any unreasonable grievances to share?

My mum does this. Drives me up the wall. Agree with the pp who said it's never the actual shopping/replacing that they do is it?

Op - try eBay to see if you can buy a load of your soap?

SlightlyAshamed1 · 09/10/2015 11:06

Ds who is eight has done this. I have absolutely no idea why. It worries me.

Mind you, I had an amazing stash of cheap bubble bath and I am reduced to showers, so I use bubble bath instead of handsoap, just topping up the dispenser. Even so, I rinse between top ups and try and avoid the watery yeurk.

I do that with the last tiny bit in the bottle (usually let the kids use it then). Don't get filling a half full bottle.

Someone did this to the soap in bathroom, no would fess up looking at you Dh I hate when the soap comes out all watery.
Go and buy some more OP, so you can prance about playing tennis in a period advert again.

I have to admit to putting some water in dispensers, but really just when there's a bit at the bottom that doesn't come up and just enough to sort of wash the container.

With shampoo I just turn the bottle upside down and I manage to extract most of it out.

Bubble bath stuff, though, I tend to flush the bottle with the bath water. It helps make even more bubbles.

a homeopathic food range

This reminds me of a joke.

A man's donkey died. He very sadly commented: "It's such a shame. Now that I had got it to eat less and less, to just a leaf of grass a day."

(or something like that)

My MIL is a helpy fucker too, she drives me mad. If i don't watch her when she's visiting, she'll move things round in my cupboard, go upstairs and get the laundry basket out and put a wash on,. I'm not even joking.

She also rehung my perfectly pegged out washing once so it was all WRONG. Angry

DP is now under strict orders to accompany her at all times when she's in the house. Course, she could still quickly fill the hand wash up with water when in bathroom having a wee. It's a worry.

I have a friend whose mother helps her by going to her house early in the morning, sometimes before they wake up and tells her, for example, she should do a wash.

I'm pretty sure that I would have forgotten the locked the door and would suddenly find myself deaf.

Mine once came to my place and took a few about twenty, don't ask of DS's t-shirts to iron. Then had a strop about something else and about how many non-ironed t-shirts there were.
We had words. She tends to keep off now. :)

My DH will open all the half empty bottles of tonic (which are half empty and unloved because they are flat) and decant them all into a giant bottle and present the half piss water to me with a "ta-da", look at the clever thing I've done!

If I were rich, all my g & t s would be completed by a fresh tin of tonic. Like perpetually being in first class on Emirates....ah....I remember that upgrade .

YANBU the only "help fuckers" allowed are the ones who bake cakes or do my ironing. My DM and MiL would never do this. They would also never buy me toiletries as I am so fussy and territorial and not very good at concealing my annoyance.

I bought dd2 posh Aussie shampoo and still caught her using my Molton Brown.

The baby belly only goes after you properly stop bfing. I have bf 3 dds for 15 months each and into my 40s. The belly is their cuddle cushion. Walking, swimming and reverse curls will give you back your abs once you stop.

Buy a bar of soap next time, she won't be able to bulk that up.
