DH and DSis fallen out - I'm stuck in middle

Sis came to our house upset as she'd had a row with her line manager. I tried to comfort her while she was here and dh suggested to her that her dress had owls on and perhaps that contributed to the confrontation. Sister is now saying that dh is takin sides with her line manager and they I am taking sides with DH and therefore, nobody is supporting her. I feel stuck in the middle as dH did not mean to blame sis, but just pointed out factors that could have contributed to it all. But then again he could have been more tactful about it. On the other hand, sister is been unfair to me (I feel) as I was the first to support her when it first happened!!
AIBU to tell her I support her but also see where dh was coming from or would it be more reasonable to just tell her I want nothing more to do with it as I feel stuck in the middle and I feel that is unfair

OP's DH thinks that a pattern with feathered creatures is inappropriate for business attire. I imagine he recommended that stripes or small dots are more suitable when meeting with one's line manager. And that OP's DSIS was like the woman in the cartoon but more owl-woman than catwoman.
